Product Description
Loserpalooza is Darby Conley's latest look at the interspecies antics of his wildly popular characters Bucky, Satchel, and Rob. At the center of this not-so-warm-and-fuzzy arrangement is Rob Wilco, a single, mild-mannered ad exec. Bucky is Rob's temperamental, buck-toothed Siamese cat with a penchant for mischief, a hatred of ferrets, and a love of rubber bands. Satchel is a sweet but naive shar-pei-yellow-Lab mix who haplessly ends up on the receiving end of Bucky's wayward schemes. An entertaining critique on popular culture and a bona fide hit, Get Fuzzy was named Best Comic Strip of the year in 2002 by the National Cartoonists Society and now appears in more than 400 newspapers worldwide.

A Get Fuzzy Reading Guide - collections vs. treasuries August 11, 2007 51 out of 51 found this review helpful
I won't go into how fantastic this comic strip is, but it is easily my favorite comic strip of all time. :)
For the uninitiated, there are eight collections so far and three treasuries. The fourth treasury is not yet released.
Please keep in mind that each treasury is two collections put together, so as far as I know the treasuries are the same as two of the collections, except I believe the treasuries have the Sunday comics in color while the collections have them in black and white.
In chronological order, the collections are:
1. The Dog is Not a Toy: House Rule #4 2. Fuzzy Logic: Get Fuzzy 2 3. The Get Fuzzy Experience 4. Blueprint for Disaster 5. Say Cheesy: A Get Fuzzy Collection 5 6. Scrum Bums 7. I'm Ready for My Movie Contract: A Get Fuzzy Collection 8. Take Our Cat, Please: A Get Fuzzy Collection
The treasuries are:
1. Groovitude (encompassing collections 1 and 2). 2. Bucky Katt's Big Book of Fun (encompassing collections 3 and 4). 3. Loserpalooza (encompassing collections 5 and 6). 4. The Potpourrific Great Big Grab Bag of Get Fuzzy (encompassing collections 7 and 8). (not yet released - release date is currently 9/1/08)
These comics are beyond hilarious, and I would highly recommend them to pet lovers/haters of all ages. :)
Old Stuff Recycled May 22, 2007 19 out of 34 found this review helpful
I pre-ordered this months ago because my kid loves this strip. Sad to say he told me it's mostly reprinted stuff we already owned in his other books. He then wondered why the big deal about waiting to put it out since it was just old stuff.
If you don't have any others this would probably be something you'd really like. IF you're a fan and have a lot of the others you might want to browse this before you shell out for it since you're apparently going to already own parts of it.
I wish they would clearly indicate if it's new stuff or old stuff before they sell it to you.
Bucky rules!
Laugh-out-loud funny May 6, 2007 9 out of 11 found this review helpful
If you have (or have ever had) a dog or a cat, you will absolutely love Get Fuzzy. Rob, the main human character, works in advertising and spends most of his free time with his . . . well, his roommates, who just happen to be a dog and a cat. Satchel is a big, sweet, rather stupid dog with a heart of gold; Bucky is a nasty, cynical, mean cat with a tongue of steel. And Rob . . . well, he's usually the straight man. Like Satan in Milton's Paradise Lost, the villain here -- Bucky -- is the most interesting of the characters; his evil nature makes him more vivid. But he's loveable, I suppose, because he's not completely evil. In the midst of a scheme to exploit Satchel somehow, he will sneak into Rob's bedroom at night and cuddle. Of course, when the scheme is discovered he's haughty and unapologetic; when the cuddling is discovered, he's horrified that his softer side may be showing. That's Bucky, and he's sort of the essence of kittyness, just as Satch is a dog's dog. Again, if you've ever shared your home with a dog or cat, you'll be falling out of your chair laughing.
Disappointment a-hoy! June 1, 2007 2 out of 10 found this review helpful
I had so looked forward to this 3. volume of the Get Fuzzy cartoon in book form that I ordered it months upon months ago. There's not much to really "review" in a comic like this, it's just full of short jokes and amusing drawings, but for some reason, this is far from the previous treasuries. The "spark" is simply gone, the jokes being mostly variations on the same old themes, which CAN be amusing (look at Calvin & Hobbes), but which here simply become boring somewhere along the line. Don't get me wrong, if you haven't read "Get Fuzzy" before, you're in for a treat, but compared to his previous work, this doesn't bode well for the future. Unlike the previous volumes, the parts that made me laugh out loud were few and far between, and I feel somewhat ripped off. For completists mostly, and if this is the level he's going to continue on, he should take a few grains of wisdom from Gary Larson and Bill Watterson.
(Something I noticed as well, is that he uses a LOT of very American themes and jokes, compared to the previous volumes. This is of course the artists prerogative, but I just thought I'd "warn" his non-American readers that a lot of this book's jokes were not ones I could "get". I guess I am fairly above average in English compared to a lot of my continent, so just be aware of this.)
Laugh out loud... July 16, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I found this collection to be laugh out loud hilarious. I'm not one to do that too often. My only negative comment is that this collection is compiled of Scrum Bums and Say Cheesy. Both of which I have purchased through amazon a few months ago. They neglected to mention that in the product description. So yes it is a great buy, if you dont already own them.
