Not Free SF Reader September 3, 2007 The first White Wolf novel. It is in fact anthology, this time based around the Vampire game. You get different stories that look at a few different characters, some that had been mentioned in the game in passing. So, a few insights into on the ground vampire society and how they work within and try and avoid their own rules.
Vampire tales for everyone February 9, 2002 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
A great collection of stories set in White Wolf's world of darkness. Each tale is set to focus on a different clan of vampire, and is a great introduction to anyone interested in playing Vampire the Masquerade role-playing game.
If you really like the "game" you may like this. June 16, 2001 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Only ten stories, I was hoping it would have at least one per clan. If you like the role playing game Vampire, especially those tricky Tremeres, you may really like this book. I'm a storyteller for a group who does tabletop Vampire so I found the stories interesting and inspiring both. My favorites were "The voice of the hummingbird," "descent" and "expendable". The last story isn't very clear about who the main character is or why they are doing what they are doing. I'd recommend it to fans of the game but not really to those interested in vampire literature in general.
Sad. March 14, 2001 1 out of 4 found this review helpful
The first story is a mass of cliches you'd expect from a teenage girl--15-year-old poet runs away from home, makes a smash at a poetry slam, and meets the vampire who turns out to be her soulmate. Eeegh. The writing doesn't get much better, either.
gripping tales of vampires July 13, 1999 i have read this book over 5 times, have given out 3 copies as gifts. i never get tired of it.
