Ultimately Awesome! October 9, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is the Ultimate Universe at some of its best! All of the Ultimate Universe titles have been aimed at making the Marvel Universe more believeable for a modern world. This means no more spandex and origins that are a bit more gritty and believable. The Ultimate Universe is where Hollywood gets most of its cues for making movies about our favorite heroes.
In Ultimate Power you get to see, pretty much, the entirety of the Ultimates Universe versus the Supremeverse. Reed Richards, thinking he is helping his friend Ben Grimm, sends numerous probes to other dimensions in an attempt to turn his friend back to normal. In doing so he has apparently unleashed a biological weapon on one of these worlds who, in turn, send their worlds heroes to seek justice. Enter the Squadron Supreme! The battle ensues destroying the top of the Baxter Building getting the attention of not only the Avengers but Spider-Man and the X-Men as well. It becomes a battle royal which ends in Reed traveling to the Supremeverse to face his punishment.
There are tons of surprises in this book and the artwork is stunning. I highly recommend this to anyone who wants a taste of something different but still kinda the same from Marvel Comics.
