This art book has a solid impact! October 17, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I'm a big fan of the Street Fighter characters so I snapped this book up as soon as I saw it available. I had high hopes for the art and I was not disappointed. There are over 300 pictures of the Street Fighter crew in all sorts of styles. The many artists who contributed art provided pieces that range from powerful to passive, sexy to silly, highly detailed to sketchy. It's not going to be like having all the art done by UDON Studios but if you don't mind variety, this Tribute art book is well worth getting. Don't worry, the girls are well represented! :-)
Brilliant art and fond memories October 20, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Few video game franchises have both the history and relevance of Street Fighter today. It's truly timeless, with so many incarnation sparking so many different emotions for so many different people.
This book captures that feeling perfectly. It's a blend of gorgeous artwork and raw emotion. Some of the artists clearly have a passion for Street Fighter and most have very strong nostalgia for the series.
This is perfect for anyone's library or coffee table. And if you're any kind of Street Fighter fan, you owe it to yourself to snag a copy.
This book is visual candy and has art that everyone can enjoy October 24, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I'm a Street Fighter nut, and I love what UDON has done with the property. I've bought their other Street Fighter books so this was a no-brainer for me. But I was pleasantly surprised to find myself REALLY enjoying this book. The art in this collection is from professionals and fans alike. Variation is the name of the game. Every art style imaginable is present here. And even the most obscure characters are represented, and the obscure characters are my favorites so I very much appreciated that. People who don't even know Street Fighter can't seem to put this book down. As for the book itself, it is as high quality as high quality can be. Nice, thick paper. Strong binding. A great slipcover(featuring amazing cover art to boot). Bottom line: If you're a Street Fighter fan, buy this. If you're a fan of art, buy this. If you're neither, what the hell are you doing reading this review?
Great art book October 17, 2008 This is an amazing book for anyone who loves street fighter. I've always loved playing the game, and seeing the characters drawn in so many different ways is amazing. The book is pretty big so you're sure to find your favorite character in here. The book has contributions from a wide range of artists and includes some insights into how the artist came up with his piece. I've looked through this once right when I got it, but I can easily see myself coming back to it just to see the great art. In conclusion, it's just a great collection of street fighter art that any fan would enjoy. But don't take my word for it.
Breath taking art for a classic game. October 24, 2008 I've only looked at half of the book and it's already worth the price of admission. If you were ever a fan of the games, you need to buy this book. A lot of great art ranging the ultra realistic to ultra cute. They have got a wide range of styles and all the characters get their just dues. Just buy the book!
