Sin embargo, no es una mala lectura ni mucho menos. Simplemente, no lo disfruta uno tanto una vez que ha degustado los mejores libros de el, en mi opinion.

Although I happen to agree with some of the comments made about the book, having just finished reading it, I feel compelled to share my view about it: it's nowhere near "Veronika Decides to Die" or "The Demon and Miss Prym", the brazilian writer's two most recent creations. Furthermore: I consider Brida is nowhere as good as "The Pilgrim" or "The Alchemist" as well.

Having said this, I have to say it's not bad literature, or anything like it. Simply, once you have rejoiced in his best books, it's hard to find this one too compelling.

Acabo de finalizar Brida, la sensacion que me queda es dificil de explicar ..... subjetiva? ..... magica? ... no lo se, de lo unico que estoy seguro es que me agrada y si me fuese facil elegir mi camino correcto no lo pensaria dos veces. Sin embargo, aun formo parte del grupo de humanos testarudos y conformistas que solo pensamos en una transformacion..... y no la buscamos.

Brida es una joven con ambiciones personales, una vida monotona que seguir, un trabajo, un novio, en fin una joven comun y corriente...... pero ella tenia muchas interrogantes y, a diferencia de muchas otras personas de su edad, decide ir en busca de sus respuestas. Es asi como se encuentra con El Mago y Wicca, ambos hechiceros que caminan a traves de la Tradicion del Sol y de la Luna, respectivamente, y ellos se encargan de ayudar a Brida a encontrar su propio camino que no era mas que el descubrir el papel que tendria que cumplir en esta reencarnacion. Pero antes Brida debe tomar la decision de continuar con su rutina diaria o aceptar una transformacion en su vida a cambio de respuestas que la harian sentir util, que le darian un sentido, una direccion a su vida ........ Ella acepto el reto sin saber que se estaba introduciendo a la noche oscura de la cual saldria con un brillo propio, reanimada y con deseos de cambiar al mundo entero. Encontraria, tambien, a su Otra Parte y este le ensenaria el verdadero amor, ese amor eterno, escaso en estos tiempos ..... pero real y posible.

El mensaje de Paulo Coelho, escrito en un lenguaje sencillo para que cualquiera pueda comprenderlo, es que todos podemos encontrar nuestro camino -que no es mas que nuestro don, nuestro rol a cumplir en este mundo- solo prestemosles atencion a las cosas que nos rodean. Sin embargo, aun le es dificil a la humanidad aceptar en sus corazones que fuimos creados para ser felices, para convivir en paz unos a otros, que este mundo nos pertenece solo por un momento; por lo contrario nos matamos mutuamente y tratamos de apoderarnos de la mayor cantidad de cosas materiales que sea posible .... para que? Si todos podemos disfrutarlas juntos.... no es acaso inmenso el mar y las tierras, porque entonces muchos de nuestros hermanos mueren de hambre?. Escuchemos el lenguaje de la naturaleza .... ella trata de decirnos algo.

Solo para finalizar y, aunque para muchos de los que lean esto les parecera "un disparo al aire", por asi decirlo, quiero darle las gracias a Paulo Coehlo y decirle que el riesgo que corrio al escribir este libro surtio el efecto adecuado ..... creo que todos tenemos ese "algo" adentro y usted se encargo de despertarlo en mi.

Este es el mejor libro que he leido, Coelho usa un lenguaje simple, facil de entender.La historia de Brida puede ser la historia de todos nosotros(al menos en ese libro pude leer mi historia),como dice otro lector, es un libro para los que creemos que necesitamos a nuestra otra parte para alcanzar la felicidad total en nuestras vidas.Si todos buscaran sus suenos sin importar lo que diga la sociedad,si todos pudieramos vencer nuestros miedos,nuestra noche obscura, y seguir nuestro corazon,nuestros sentimientos en lugar de encasillarnos en una rutina y dejarnos llevar por la corriente del conformismo, este mundo seria diferente, si pudieramos decir no a la rutina y salirnos de la monotonia de la vida para buscar las respuestas a nuestras preguntas, si supieramos entender la diferencia entre el verdadero amor(nuestra otra parte)y la costumbre de estar con alguien, encontrariamos la felicidad eterna que todos deseamos.
Brida is a great story about the search of answers to your questions, about the quest for love and happines, and realizing your dreams by folowing your heart, told in a very clear way and easy to read and understand.I strongly recomend this book to everyone who believes that we need our other half to reach total hapiness.
i would have given it 7 stars if i could but 5 was the top.

I firmly believe that everyone has another part, some people fortunately find it but others have to wait a lot or they never got it.
Coelho describes these in a beautiful way, but, this book is not for everyone, only for those who believe that it's necessary to find the other half to be completely happy...

though i haven't read this book, all i heard was that it's the best!i have read all of Coelho other ENGLISH books and strongly recomend them to everyone!The man is simply a genious!

i just have one question though... Is the book on sale here in English?? i don't know Brazilian... but i want to buy the book and i'm afraid it will be not-english! all his books should be translated to all languages... the ones that have been are all better than best sellars! but:MANUAL OF THE WARRIOR OF THE LIGHT; BRIDA; AGENDA and others i can't translate... they can help so many people all around the world!
