Product Description Ask Kennedi Mason and she'll say she and her husband, Blake, have a good marriage. That's why she can't wait to tell Blake the fabulous news--that something he's always dreamed about and wanted has finally happened. But when Blake arrives home that evening, he has an announcement of his own, one that shocks Kennedi into silence.
A poignant and witty story of hope and perception, expectation, and illusion, One in a Million beautifully shows us that sometimes what we think we have and what we think we want aren't real at all.
Unabridged on 4 CDs.

Never in a Million Years August 7, 2008 10 out of 10 found this review helpful
Kimberla Lawson Roby brought it with a bang in One In A Million. Kennedi Mason thinks life is great and could not get any better. That is, until she finds out some great news that she thinks will make her life that much more fulfilling. She cannot wait to share the news with her husband. But he has some news that he wants to share first. Both announcements will make a strong impact on the rest of their lives.
This is Roby's first novella and she did a great job. It was short, full of entertainment, and to the point. Some of these events, you do not think would happen in a million years. Well they all happen in One In A Million. Her fans will love this read. I definitely recommend it.

"...Chance Of A Lifetime!" June 17, 2008 9 out of 11 found this review helpful
Kennedi Mason thinks that she has the perfect marriage with her husband Blake. After years of hoping and dreaming about this special moment, Kennedi can't wait to share the good news with her husband...news that will change their lives for the better. But when Blake gets home, he has some news of his own that will turn Kennedi's world into a tailspin. The aftermath of Kennedi and Mason's announcements will set forth a series of events where lies and betrayal are uncovered. Kennedi will soon find out that perception is not reality.
One in a Million is an intriguing novella by Kimberla Lawson Roby. Roby hooks the reader in from the first page beginning with Kennedi's good news. As you start reading the first few pages, you will think that you know what Kennedi's news is until you get to the last few sentences at the end of the first chapter. The jaw-dropping twist comes so early in the story that readers will be flipping the pages trying to find out what's going to happen next. You will also see how Kennedi saw only what she wanted to see in regards to her marriage. Fans of Roby's previous novels will see a small cameo appearance by the Rev. Curtis Black in this story, but this novella isn't about him. One in a Million is dramatic and insightful. Kimberla Lawson Roby once again brought a story that her legion of fans will enjoy.

This is a great story about how family and friends can and will betray you when you come into a lot of money. Kimberla brings out how money can change some people and you find out who your true friends are. Another great novel by Kimberla.
Expected more from such a talented author June 28, 2008 5 out of 6 found this review helpful
I am a great fan of Kimberla Lawson Roby and have read every published novel of hers to date. I have to admit I was a bit disappointed by the plot and the delivery her latest release. I read the book within 3 days (including 8 hour work days and having a 2 year old at home) and it seemed rushed and under-developed. I really did not feel the dynamics between the main character Kennedi and her spouse so it was hard to feel the main characters anguish at her situation. Curtis Black and his wife Charlotte's names were thrown in just for the sake of it and there were other characters that just were simply irrelevant. The relationship with Miles seems predictable and just not interesting. I cannot honestly say I would recommend this novel. This was just a miss but all her other novels were definitely hits!
Can't Put It Down June 18, 2008 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
From the very first page, Roby captures her reader and doesn't let go until the very end. This is a terrific, fun, and clever read. One in a Million is story of a woman who thinks she has everything she wants in her life and then gets the suprise of a lifetime. Roby takes a great idea to it's ultimate fulfillment - great stuff!
