Product Description Mackenzie Allen Philips' youngest daughter, Missy, has been abducted during a family vacation and evidence that she may have been brutally murdered is found in an abandoned shack deep in the Oregon wilderness. Four years later in the midst of his Great Sadness, Mack receives a suspicious note, apparently from God, inviting him back to that shack for a weekend. Against his better judgment he arrives at the shack on a wintry afternoon and walks back into his darkest nightmare. What he finds there will change Mack's world forever. In a world where religion seems to grow increasingly irrelevant "The Shack" wrestles with the timeless question, "Where is God in a world so filled with unspeakable pain?" The answers Mack gets will astound you and perhaps transform you as much as it did him. You'll want everyone you know to read this book!

Don't listen to the negative reviews November 18, 2008 I would suggest that people should not listen to the negative reviewer comments. Apparently having alot of time on their hands to write such lengthy comments, they were reviewing this author's capability of giving a bible sermon, rather than writing a great story. It is a moving story that keeps your attention when many books these days do not. It is not meant to be bible 101, however any story that brings recognition of a higher being into our lives in this day and age is okay by me!!!!!!!!!
The Shack November 18, 2008
The greiving process can be long lasting and extremely depressing. The message in this book is profound and exceptional in its insight into the mind of a greiving father and his evolvement to an awareness of God's plan for him and his world. This story unfolds the mystery of the "how" and "why" which many time goes unanswered to those who grieve and suffer a terrible loss. I recommend this book as a cornerstone to the awakening process of understanding just who we really are.
Simply moving and amazing November 18, 2008 I only read this book a few weeks ago and was blown away by it. So many would say it is fiction and even far fetched. But for me, and all that I have experienced with God...it put a smile on my face. To see someone portray God, His Son, and the Holy Spirit the way this writer has...blessed me tremendously. Because of things that have happened in my life...I have seen (sensed) God, His Son and the Holy Spirit in ways similar to "Mack". Much joy came to me as I read this story. Call it whatever you want....but it's more real and available for all to experience as we grow and walk with the Lord and live the good, the bad..and the rough times in our earthly life.
The Shack November 18, 2008 I am still reading this wonderful book. I have found it very creative and thought provoking. It has encouraged me to view God in a more loving, personal and wholistic way. I would highly recommend this book to anyone yearning to grow in their relationship and understanding of our God.
captivating November 18, 2008 I couldn't put this book down. Interesting --- captivating --- Inspirational. A very different approach to GOD. I loved it. Well worth the read.
