5 out of 5 stars Very good   February 22, 2006

It's always tricky to review an Eckhart Tolle cd, not only because of the incredibly subjective nature of whether or not the signposts he focuses on in a particular recording are right for you at the time, but also because it's judging something that is guiding you beyond judgement. That all said, this is pretty excellent in my opinion. Of course, I would listen to him read the phone book, so take that into account. Within this disc he often uses the "being/I am" signpost, as well as "space consciousness" and "allowing this moment to be". He never mentions pain body or inner body. Of course, he is subtly funny at times, which is always welcome. He talks about surrender to what is, and uses the newly deceased Christopher Reeves as an example. All very good.

A couple things could be seen as drawbacks though.

The title of this cd might be a little misleading for some. He only talks about meditation per se at the beginning of the first track, and then no more. (of course all of his talks could be considered meditations, but you know what I mean)

This might be better on DVD if you don't mind not being able to listen in your car as I do. He often seems to be doing silent impressions or gestures (he'll say something, then there will be silence for a bit, you can hear him moving about and then the audience will starting howling with laughter) and I wanted to see what was going on.

It's kind of expensive for one disc that seems over very quickly. There is no tracklisting either.

That all said, Eckhart delivers another great recording.

5 out of 5 stars The Messenger is the Message   February 22, 2006

This short talk by Eckhart is one of his funniest. I had it on DVD, where it's a little more effective, and where you get to see Eckhart without a beard, which is kind of amusing in itself. However, I actually prefer listening to him on CDs, because I can listen while I work or drive, a less-than-perfectly-mindful pattern that I'm sure Eckhart wouldn't wholly recommend. I listen to the guy for many hours every week, so I sort of have no choice but to get double-duty out of my time and attention. You do what you can. This is a good talk that lasts for just over an hour. I agree that it's too expensive, but I don't earn much money, and I have never regretted one dime that I've ever spent on Eckhart's stuff, this talk included. He's profoundly and positively changed my life over the past 3 1/2 years, so how do you put a price on that? If you like Eckhart, you'll like this CD.

5 out of 5 stars One of the greatests   January 11, 2007

Few words say more of the real power this man trasmits on each word...

4 out of 5 stars Very pleased, as usual   June 13, 2008

Eckhart clears up many misconceptions about what we are doing when we meditate, and this has made my morning sitting infinitely better. I am having many insights with this CD, and his 3-CD talk: Know that "I AM".

Pairing these two with Gangaji's CD, Revealing the Strategies of Ego, has released me from many of my identifications, and comforted me with the realization that, no matter what happens in my life, "it's not personal".

These CDs will speed up your search for the Truth.

4 out of 5 stars SOFTNESS   June 12, 2008

I love everything from Eckard, but his voice is extremely soft and sometimes almost not understandable. Probably the recording wasn't done correctly, but I still like it a lot.
