5 out of 5 stars Quirky indy continues   October 9, 2008
This second collection continues the Redfox story. If you haven't met her yet, she's a scantily clad and slightly inept sword-babe. The last series saw her in several adventures. One, a stay with the wizard Estaque, left her with a magical ring, one that materialized a sword when she willed it to.

It now turns out that the ring also connects her to a demon queen, exiled to some dark dimension, each time Redfox uses that magic. It also turns out that Estaque somewhat fell for Redfox (don't we all?), and created a magical sister for her: Whitefox. So, when the Red succumbs to the ring's evil, White, Estaque, and two helpful henchbeings set out to save her.

Fox (the author, not the character) and crew have put together an exceptional sword-babe series. Red stands closer to Ghita than to Red Sonja in its B&W art and humorous tone. Redfox imitates no one, though. Quirky, expressive lines bring Red and her unique friends to life, and Red gets by quite nicely without Ghita's bedhopping. I recommend this exceptional indy to anyone - if you can still find it.
