Inspired Bible study! April 3, 2002 75 out of 76 found this review helpful
I admit I was skeptical before I started this study. It focuses primarily on the construction of tabernacle --- one of the parts of the Bible I have neglected, along with the "begats" of the New Testament. However, Beth Moore brings an inspired understanding to this subject which I never imagined possible. There are an amazing number of correlations with the New Testament, especially in the sacrificial life and death of Christ. She also draws meaningful comparisons between the Old Testament tabernacle and our lives, as the tabernacle of God now dwells within us. She delves into the original Hebrew and Greek texts to bring a much deeper meaning to scripture. If you have done some of her other studies, the daily homework in this one will take you a little longer than usual, possibly because this was the first study she wrote. That being said, it is a wonderful study. I HIGHLY recommend you also view the video tape series along with the workbook. Although Beth is a Southern Baptist, her studies are truly ecumenical. At my Presbyterian (PCUSA) church, we are about to start our fifth Beth Moore study. We have Presbyterians, Methodists, Baptists and Episcopalians in our group, all of whom love her Bible studies!
A Worth Study October 11, 2000 51 out of 52 found this review helpful
As a participant in the study of "A Woman's Heart: God's Dwelling Place", I can tell you that Beth Moore's writings have truly been inspired by God. Mrs. Moore's study places in lay terms how God sought to establish the tabernacle and dwell among His people. She calls attention to things you may have read multiple times since childhood but have never realized the significance of it or how it applies to your life. Mrs. Moore's obvious knowledge and understanding of the subject allows her to take the reader on a perceptual journey into the Old Testament times and into the depth of the study so vividly that you are left truly inspired and motivated to study even more. This study book consists of 10 weekly lessons with each one containing 5 daily lessons. Once you finish the book, you will be making plans to get started on another one of her study books. This book is an excellent tool for an individual Bible study or maybe as part of a group.
A Revelation of God's Precious Truths November 27, 2001 33 out of 33 found this review helpful
This is the first study I've ever done by Beth Moore and it is absolutely wonderful. God truly reveals the precious treasures of His word through Beth's writings. This specific study on the Old Testament Tabernacle is particularly fascinating because of the parallels it holds to the New Covenant in Christ. Going into this study I did not expect to be so thrilled to learn about the Ark and its dwelling, but through this study I am understanding that everything in the Old Testament forshadows God's promises in the New Testament. And all God's promises in the Old Testament are fulfilled in Christ. My eyes have been opened tremendously to the LORD through this beautiful study and I can definitely say I see growth in my walk. I have a heart to know God more and more since doing this study and learning about His glorious truths. I highly recommend it!!
Valuable tool May 7, 2003 29 out of 30 found this review helpful
This is my second Beth Moore study. I find her Bible study workbooks to be excellent, penetrating guides to be used individually or in a group. If you are looking for a Bible study workbook for yourself or your ladies group, this one is a gem. Each week of this ten week study includes 5 days of questions that probe the content, meaning and application of God's Word. I recommend this resource highly.
A Woman's Heart God's Dwelling Place June 4, 2001 20 out of 22 found this review helpful
This study has reinspired my desire to get into God's word. She does a great job of parallelling the Old and New Testaments to show not only how Jesus is the true Christ, but how as a believer He is a living, breathing part of your life if we allow it. This study encourages intimacy with the Father. Excellent!
