New Direction Requires a Course in X-Men History October 5, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This title, spinning out of the former "X-Men" book, follows the exploits of a brain-damaged Professor Xavier as he tries to piece his life back together. The first collection, "Divided He Stands," has a stellar creative team, featuring Mike Carey, John Romita Jr, and Scot Eaton. The covers, by David Finch, are the icing on the creative team cake.
Unfortunately, the book went right over my head. I've been reading X-Men comics since 1990, so I thought that I had enough knowledge of the past to follow along...but, apparently, I was wrong. "Divided He Stands" features frequent flashbacks to various points in Xavier's life, although Carey doesn't inform the reader when the flashbacks took place. The reader is bound to be just as lost as Professor Xavier, who suffers from a bullet-induced amnesia.
Great Book October 14, 2008 Amazing, An X-men writer who did his RESEARCH! PLEASE KEEP THIS GOING, Marvel NEEDS to get CONTINUITY TO MATTER. Also, I also have been reading since 1990 and I understood everything.
