great book February 28, 2006 10 out of 10 found this review helpful
I teach high school math, and many kids show up for 9th grade not having learned enough arithmetic to survive in algebra. This book, in the hands of a student who wants to learn, works very well. Lots of worked out examples.

I found this book to be a wonderful help. I wish I had this book 40 years ago when I was having a rough time in school. This book is GREAT for a refresher and actually for learning if you have never had a good math foundation.

This book is very well laid out and useful as a review of the basics of math. I'm using it with an eight-year kid and he has learned a lot studying it with me.
