Amazon.com The third season of the popular shonen (boy's) show Dragon Ball Z continues the adventures of Goku and Gohan on Namek, Piccolo's home planet. Goku, who has been in a regeneration tank since the end of season 2, recovers just in time to challenge the sniggering Frieza, one of the most grating villains in anime history. Having defeated Gohan, Krillin, Vegeta, and Piccolo, Frieza takes on Goku in a protracted duel. When he begins to doubt his ability to overcome Goku, Frieza destroys the core of Namek, ensuring it will explode in a matter of minutes. Enraged by the death of Krillin and so many others, Goku transforms into the one thing Frieza fears: a Super Saiyan, a legendary warrior who appears once every 1,000 years. As the seconds tick away, the two most powerful individuals in the universe duke it out. While they're beating the soba out of each other, King Kai hatches a plan to use the Dragon Balls of Earth and Namek to ensure a happy ending. As the battle between Goku and Frieza intensifies, the kicks and punches fly, producing titanic explosions. But the duel goes on for more than 20 episodes: With only a limited budget and crude special-effects techniques at their disposal, the filmmakers have to recycle footage endlessly. Dragon Ball Z: Season 3 is more entertaining when the viewer allows a few days to elapse between episodes, rather than indulging in a Super Saiyan marathon. (Rated TV PG. suitable for ages 8 and older: violence, brief nudity, tobacco use, ethnic stereotypes) --Charles Solomon

A little background, on what to expect, from this season! April 5, 2007 16 out of 77 found this review helpful
In February 2007, FUNimation's "remastered" DBZ Season One boxset saw its release to DVD. Touted as a complete remastering, this release was produced in a (cropped) widescreen presentation with a "remastering" process by Video Post & Transfer in Texas. Despite FUNimation's claims, the set is indeed cropped (missing approximately 20% of its vertical resolution while only gaining approximately 5% of its horizontal resolution), it is not remastered frame-by-frame from its original film, and the color has been adjusted. Of note is the inclusion of a new audio track, featuring FUNimation's traditional voice track (with minor line alterations where appropriate) played alongside the original Japanese musical score. For more in-depth information on this set on season 1 and what to expect from the others, please listen to Episode #0065 of the Daizex Podcast!
Goku vs. Freiza= Awesome!!!!!!!!!!! April 11, 2007 14 out of 25 found this review helpful
Now it seems to me that people are complaining a lot on this whole DBZ remaster thing. I say the hell with that. This is indeed that greatest thing ever to come out of Japan. I already own Season One and Season Two, let me just say one thing it's magic. It doesn't bother me that it has been trimmed down from the top and bottom it is still flawless. Of course I'll get this Third Season. So for those who have something to complain about, complain of why DBZ hasn't hit the big screen yet. There something to think about.
Best Saga! August 6, 2007 13 out of 15 found this review helpful
Season 3 of Dragonballz features the whole Frieza Saga. Although I love most of the DBZ Sagas, this is my favorite saga out of all the others. I remember I alway wanted to get this saga but it was 10 tapes or DVD'S and the cost was around $80-$100, and I could not afford that. But thanks to the new DBZ season sets I could get this for 30 bucks instead. I'm going to buy this the first day it comes out.
people are complaining a lot April 15, 2007 10 out of 23 found this review helpful

Good Freeeeeeekin' Anime August 5, 2007 10 out of 13 found this review helpful
I have yet to see the third instalment of the DBZ series. But that is not to say that Im not waiting like a lil hound for it to finally be released. The first two instalments were pretty darn good if I do say so myself. But the Frieza Saga is just where it starts getting interesting (with Goku going S.S. and what not).
If I've done my math right, and I'd like to think that I have, there should be something between seven and nine full seasons coming out all together. If you figure on average of 35 episodes-per-boxset, then that is what it figures out to...But I'm still unsure....point being, DBZ is an amazing anime (my second fav) and remastered or not, should be admired by ALL fans of "The Arts".
