Another quality release from Disney Studios. June 8, 2008 5 out of 7 found this review helpful
I have alway's been impressed with Disney releases on Blu-Ray. They have really taken the time to put out the titles when they are ready to meet the high demands of Blu-Ray. Though this title does not equal Pirates Of The Carribean, or other Pixar films such as Cars and Ratatouille in pristine video. It is very, very good. To me, this film was meant to be shown somewhat as a dark view, alomost outside documentary type look. And it does just that. It is a "soft" looking movie. The picture does not leap out at you with super vivid colors and razor sharpness. But, it really isn't supposed to. With that said, it is very, very clean. There are few artifacts or blemishes that I could see. Sometimes there is a bit of haze when the camera moves from side to side. But not bad overall. It is a relatively new movie, so the quality of the film is in very good shape. The colors are very accurate and detail is very nice. In my opinion, much better than the standard dvd. Which was never to impressive I think. The skintones are on the money. Consistant throughout the film. Dark scenes are not perfect. Blacks are pretty good, but sometimes faulter just a bit. Not enough to knock the title in my opinion.
I have seen many films that are newer and look much worse. Sound is pretty good too. This is not your classic action/adventure style movie with shoot out's and loud explosions. This title is driven by the music score and soundtrack. Which is very clean sounding and nice. It wont show off your system if you are an audiofile, but it does what it is supposed to do in my opinion.
As far as the movie goes, everyone has an opinion. I am not a movie critic. I leave that to the people who get paid the big bucks to watch movies. In my opinion though......I loved this flick. Comes together very well and has many surprises. Suspensful is the key term for those who have not seen this film. Much like The Sixth Sense.......it all comes together at the end. That's it......
If you liked the movie, it is a great title overall. You cant knock a film that isn't "reference quality" if it wasn't meant to look that way.
I would give it a 4 1/2 if I could. That would be a 90% or a B+. I think that is an accurate description of this product.
Great flick, but why is Amazon posting at 1:33 format? May 17, 2008 1 out of 10 found this review helpful
There must be some mistake. I ran the UPC code on other sites and the format for this film will be widescreen. I don't know the specifics, but at least it will be in widescreen. Amazon needs to correct their mistake for the blu ray release.
The movie is one of my favorites, but it would be truly a disapointment if the blu ray was released in 1:33 format.
Excellent Film! June 12, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful

high expectations that lead to a let down July 8, 2008 0 out of 4 found this review helpful
M Night Shyamalan does a great job of teasing you into believing that his movies are much more interesting than they turn out to be. The Sixth Sense was a great movie full of suspense and the unexpected. The previews for Signs made it seem equally frightening and interesting. Alas, it was not. Mel Gibson's character's crisis of faith was not enough to make the movie worth sitting through. I had to write this review because I saw it had only 3 reviews so far, each giving it 5 stars... and it is definitely NOT a 5 star movie.
Entertaining, thrilling and suspensful! July 16, 2008 Ever wonder what it would be like for you and your family to encounter creatures from another world. Well step into the shoes of ex Reverend Graham Hess as he and his family discover crop circles in their back yard just to hear about similar crop circles on the news. Grip your emotions and stir your senses. Get ready for a well paced, edge of your seat suspensful thrill ride. Definitely recommended.
