| Editorial Reviews:
Product Description Trisha Ashworth and Amy Nobile conducted interviews with hundreds of mothers while researching their best-selling book I Was a Really Good Mom Before I Had Kids. It didn't take long before these moms began to reveal their Dirty Little Secrets?surprising, thought-provoking, guilty confessions they hadn't told anyone else. Cringe-worthy moments ("I bit my daughter's finger trying to steal a bite of her cookie.") meet real insights ("I love my kids but I didn't always. It took time to fall in love with them."). These are the private thoughts that every mom has?and every mom can relate to.

Wait for the paperback April 11, 2008 7 out of 8 found this review helpful
At one sentence per page, this book is a waste of money, even at Amazon's prices for hardcover. It took less than 5 minutes to read the whole thing. If the paperback comes out at less than $4, it might be entertaining enough to buy. I found the "secrets" to be rather silly as well. It wasn't humorous enough to recommend.
Cute but not much to it May 4, 2008 7 out of 8 found this review helpful
The idea was great, and much needed. Mothers everywhere are struggling to be perfect and could benefit from realizing they are not alone in cutting corners and feeling frustrated. This book gets the message across, but with only a line or two on each page you are finished in less than half an hour and left thinking they barely scratched the surface. The whole book would hardly fill an average magazine article. I wish they'd done more, I wish we could have heard more stories and anecdotes and felt like we had something to relate to, instead of something just fluffy and cute and insubstantial. A good idea that didn't go nearly far enough to satisfy and not anywhere near enough material to justify the cost of the book.
Short Lived.... April 23, 2008 6 out of 8 found this review helpful
This book is cute but I read the whole thing in about 10 minutes or so.
Funny yet disappointing. May 29, 2008 5 out of 6 found this review helpful
I read an ad for this in a parenting magazine. I think they put all of the funny parts in the ad. I ordered this online and was shocked when I saw there was only one sentence per page. I read the whole book in 10 minutes. There were many "confessions" that had nothing to do with being a mom. I guess I just think if I spend $10 on a book it should last more than 10 minutes.
Short, sweet and sassy! April 11, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
What a fun, light, uplifting read - great Mother's Day gift! Every woman can hear herself in the voices of these women. It reminds us not to take ourselves too seriously and enjoy life in the moment. Take it to your next car pool line, doctor visit, or bathroom trip!
