Product Description
Ordinary days are magical when spent with those you love. Dad and his little girl, along with their very large bloodhound, set off on an ordinary day and turn it into a wonderful adventure. From dancing by a duck pond to swinging on a tire swing, lots of laughs and love are shared in time spent together. The day ends with a sweet "Goodnight, I love you" from Dad. And a whisper, "I love you more" from his little girl. This book is a delightful reminder that spending time together really matters. Simple moments, laughter and knowing you are loved builds lasting relationships.

My Little Girl October 23, 2008 3 out of 6 found this review helpful
I received this book in the mail yesterday. I sat down and read it (it only took a few minutes). I love the pictures and the simpleness of the story. I gave the book to my husband who read it to our youngest daughter (age 6) at bedtime. They loved the story. I peeked in on them as they were reading and my daughter was all snuggled up next to him (not unusual) but they stopped reading several times to discuss the pictures and remembering times when they had their "nothing in particular days" that will probably be remembered forever. This would make a perfect book to give for a baby shower gift, especially for first time parents.
Sweet October 23, 2008 3 out of 9 found this review helpful
My Little Girl, written by celebrity author Tim McGraw and Tom Douglas. My Little Girl follows a father and daughter having a special 'nothing in particular' day out. The characters don't do anything super exciting or adventurous, but do things that a father and daughter have probably shared together at one point in time.
For the most part, I liked this book. It can be said that it is a bit too sweet, but since the story is about the relationship between a father and daughter, it's sweetness doesn't seem misplaced. There are a few things that set this book apart from the rest. The font size changes throughout the book, which I felt was pretty engaging and kept each page looking new. The illustrations are also done wonderfully and are worth taking a peek at. Illustrator Julia Denos does a great job at capturing the emotion it seems McGraw and Douglas had while writing.
This book is sure to please those of all ages and has places in the beginning and end to add your own special memories.

This is a sweet book. I love how it shows how little girls can be treasured by their fathers and that the most important thing is just spending time together. The little girl named Katie reminds me of my own daughter--can't decide what to wear so she wears everything! The watercolor illustrations are wonderful. My girls love this book.
A sweet book October 21, 2008 2 out of 4 found this review helpful
This is a sweet book, but I am not very impressed. I can't say that my daughter and I felt very inspired to do anything different than we already do. The one thing it will do is make a little girl who doesn't get to spend time with her Daddy feel awful. It's really dad who needs the lesson, not the kid. It was just "okay" to us.

I don't doubt that this is an accurate example of Tim McGraw's relationship with his daughters in storybook form. Wish all fathers would and could cherish their precious daughters and sons like he is able to do. Nice illustrations---sappy and easy read.
