A life changeing book January 7, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I loved this book just as much as i loved tattos on my soul . After reading it it trully inspired me , burrel reminds me of the positive cvl leaders in a nation of lords the ones like pep dawley and bobby gore and especially chief al because he is a positive businessman that inspires hope . Not only can a guy from the street benifit from this book but anyone in industry goverment or anyone peroid who is striveing to improve their lifes physically mentally and striveing for success. Brothers like burrel i look up to them more than any celeberty or president . because he is the epitome of a positive leader . what he does with this book and his other book is convey to us that you can dress nice give back to your community , drive a rolls royce and have a good life without risking going to prison or death . I stronglly recomend this to all the brothers in chicago , but like i said before this isnt just a book for the brothers on the street but anybody can benifit from this book because its about success in any area in life from sports economic development or whatever you want to do . Burrel and w clement stone have the best self help books !!!!
A rare thing, a really helpful self help book March 2, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is a great book. It helps make sense of the different ways we need to think and live in order to achieve success - whatever success means to you. It offers lots of really helpful suggestions and guides you past some of the mental hurdles which get in the way of achieving your potential. Its also really nicely presented with tons of inspiring quotes and stories.
You could easily read this through but I have been finding it great to pick up and browse through as the short quotes are so interesting.
If you are stuck and can't see a way through this book gives you a great road map.
a great self-help book! March 25, 2008 I know Burrel and have heard him speak many times, so I was thrilled to 'hear' his words pop off the pages and tell it like it is, with candor, humor, energy and tons of great actionable advice..! Success For Life, Burrel's second book and companion to his memoirs "Tattoos On My Soul" is motivating, entertaining and full of color and personality...not to mention including many of the pithiest quotations I've read in a long time...
Success for life July 24, 2008 This was a great book. It did go over a lot of the same things as most books of this nature BUT because it was from a black man that made the differnce. I am black and have read these type of books before but from non blacks and they do go through the same things as blacks that is why I give if a big thumps up!
