Fantastic book for kids of all ages September 19, 2008 One of my 5 year old twins picked out this book at a book fair and it has not disappointed. We've spent many evenings together looking for the hidden items. My other 5 year old is a little scared by some of the pictures, but it really depends on your kid. I only wish there was an answer key somewhere, we can't find the hare on the first double page spread!
This book is great fun! October 3, 2008 My five year old son and I love to search through the pictures in this book. Ms. Barber, the hare is in the clouds by the moon. Did you find the hatchet in that spread? We can't find it anywhere.
A perfect Halloween read October 10, 2008 New York Times bestselling author Walter Wick is the co-creator of the I Spy series with Jean Marzollo. He's successfully directed his talent to a new book, On a Scary Scary Night: Can You See What I See?
Halloween is around the corner and it is great fun to be able to read some funny and scary (not too scary) stories to the children. Wick takes children and adults into fantasy land with his new search-and-find book, On a Scary Scary Night: Can You See What I See?
Wick designed and his assistants created the sets photographed in this book and the sets are stunning works of art.
Wick's book is a must read. Unless you actually see the beautiful photos that have a hint of fright you just can't appreciate what this talented man has accomplished. My favorite photo is the aerial shot of the town. The color, illumination of the houses and general feel of the scene is delightful. I loved searching out the frogs on the town street, the details of the main street scene and the castle at night is stunning!
Armchair Interviews says: On a Scary Scary Night: Can You See What I See? is the perfect Halloween read.
Fun book October 11, 2008 Great book! Fun for the whole family! Could anyone find the "too" on the spirit potion picture?
An excellent Halloween romp! October 20, 2008 My 3rd grade daughter and I enjoy doing look and find type books (we have a lot of Disney ones), and we recently picked up this Halloween themed one by Walter Wick, who also helped create the "I Spy" books. We bought this at the Scholastic book fair at her school.
This is an excellent Halloween look and find outing. There are 12 pages of pics that you can spend a lot of time pouring over trying to find the requested items. The production quality of the pictures is top notch, and they have just the right Halloween atmosphere.
The pages are very challenging, and there are a lot of additional items thrown in the pics, giving you plenty of "replay" options. I plan to buy the Christmas themed one next since this one was so well done.
It's also fun trying to find the red and yellow wooden robot included in every picture.
