Best of the Summer Collection So Far!! June 7, 2008 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
As for the Summer Series, Massie was pretty good, Dylan was disappointingly not well-written, so I picked up Alicia with some reservation. It was fabuloso times ten!! I loved the story line set in the beautiful five star Hotel Lindo in Spain. We get to know Nina once again- but see a very different view of her from the crush-stealer of Westchester we had previously met. After reading this book, I so heart Alicia, and would love to read more books from her perspective! Alicia is now my favorite member of the Pretty Committee after readng this book- she behaves way bettter than any of the other of the other girls, and it pays off in the end! My only complaint about this book: I wish it had been longer!
Pretty Good, but could be Better June 10, 2008 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
I had high hopes for this book before reading it, but I have to say it wasn't as good as I imagined it would be. I thought that it copied Massie's book slightly and was a bit repetative, and the ending wasn't beliveble to me, but other than that it was pretty good. I enjoyed seeing the other side of Nina, and Alicia's twin cousins were portrayed well enough. It was a good read, but wasn't great.
The Clique Summer Collection #3 Alicia Review June 28, 2008 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
The 3rd book in the clique summer collection was an amazing book. It showed many hidden things that we didn't necessarily know already. It was a book that kept you on your toes and you never knew what was coming next. I can't wait for the next one.
I like Alicia a lot more now, but found the book a bit slow-moving July 3, 2008 I absolutely loved Massie's book, but found Dylan's a bit formulaic and dull, so I picked this one up with high hopes but low expectations. To me, this one hit right between Dylan's and Massie's books in pure fun factor - it was enjoyable to read, but I wasn't so into it that I raced to read it instead of doing something else.
Alicia goes to Spain to stay with her cousins and finds out that a hot pop sensation is shooting a music video. He needs to find a true Spanish beauty to star in it, and Alicia and her cousins are all sure they are each going to be that lady!
It was neat getting to see how Alicia's mind works and see her interact with her cousins. I enjoyed that insight and like Alicia a lot more after reading this book - she seems to be slightly more thoughtful in how she relates with others than some of The Clique are, which I appreciate, yet she was still catty and fun to read.
All in all, if you are a fan, read Massie first, skip Dylan, and read this one next. If you haven't read The Clique books yet, start with those - these summer books probably aren't going to win over new fans.
The best summer series book yet! July 6, 2008 I've read every book in the Normal series and the summer series, and this is definetly the best in the 'SS'. It's not focusing on Massie for a change gets you a little bit into the betas life. A great book! I'd reccomend the whole series to any preteen-teenage girls who love to read and are preppy:)
