Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
Stories about athletes and coaches usually focus on their championships or their scandals. All the Good in Sports features 20 contemporary sports personalities who go beyond the headlines to candidly share how their relationship with Christ has helped them cope with a variety of difficulties, both professional and personal, and how in Christ they found victory in their personal lives. Many professing Christians in the sports world have achieved wealth and notoriety, but life s luxuries do not exempt them from life s difficulties. Name recognition and personal fortune cannot rescue one whose marriage is on the rocks, one facing substance abuse, or one facing disease or even death. The sports heroes featured in All the Good in Sports are not super human. They go through the same pendulum of emotions you and I do when life deals us a punch in the stomach. However, what they discover or rediscover is a God who is faithful and responsive in their time of need.

4 out of 5 stars Inspirational read   July 9, 2007

"All the Good in Sports" takes a look at sports icons as more than just big-winning celebs; showing us a more personal (and human) side to these legends. As someone who likes to read around the numbers in sports, I'd say this book makes for a great read, and I strongly recommend it.

5 out of 5 stars what many big-time sports editors mistakenly think you wouldn't care about   September 4, 2007

"All the Good in Sports" is an insightful compilation of real-life stories of numerous sports standouts. I must say that I gained a greater appreciation for the adversities that many of the featured individuals overcame with faith and perserverance. It is one of those books that one feels connected to many of those who are biographied. I recommend this book for the distinguished participant's uplifting messages.

5 out of 5 stars Brilliant "must read"   September 12, 2007

This book is a brilliant compilation of successful Christian athletes who are proud to declare and share their faith. I found it was a terrific representation of many sports. When the going got tough, these role models let their faith propel them forward. Many had to endure some major issues that were life changing, and all navigated threw their difficult times with grace and perserverance. This book offers an inside glimpse into the real lives of our hero's and an opportunity to enlighten us to the fact that we all have difficulties in our lives that can strengthen us. We all have to incur roadblocks some passable some not. It's how these athletes handled the roadblocks that are the key. I found this book to extremely encouraging, motivating, and refreshing. I'd call is a definite "feel good", inspirational read.

5 out of 5 stars Great book for sports fans and those who aren't   August 30, 2007

"All the Good in Sports" is an apt title for a wonderful book. The stories are positive and uplifting. They show courage, integrity, honesty, and faith in the lives of these athletes. If you're looking for a book you could enjoy yourself or give to inspire character development in your kids, this is it. So much of the sports news today is dark side of people who are athletes without a moral compass. This book is a refreshing reminder that not all athletes are criminals. I was inspired to see that many of these athletes, like Tony Dungy, actually integrate their faith and life outside sports with their behavior "on the field".
I enthusiastically recommend this book!

It's about time somebody (like Mike Sandrolini) brought professional sports into a wonderfully positive light. Young and old will treasure this book. You won't find anything about athletes drug, gun, and dog problems, but those involved in the pro sports scene for the right reasons, sharing their stories with us. Hopefully there will be more books like this for you, me, and our teenage athletes to read! Congratulations, Mike.
