Product Description Little ones learn to help out around the house with this humorous book from McSweeney's new Irregulars series. Many people are parents, and many parents get hungry. It's time to show those infants how to concoct a simple breakfast! This instructional board book teaches precious little angels to be useful, at long last. It's a delicious way to start the day. Thanks, Baby!

Hilariously inappropriate May 11, 2006 19 out of 19 found this review helpful
The "Baby Be of Use" series is completely hilarious, and makes an AWESOME inappropriate baby shower gift (for anyone with inappropriate-humor-loving, baby-having friends).
It's true, there are some people in this world who might not find it funny to imply that a baby should prepare your breakfast for you, or learn how to make Daddy a margarita (see _Baby, Mix Me a Drink_). You know who you are. If you snickered at all at this idea, you must purchase these books immediately.
The books are the same size and construction as all the other little board books cluttering up your house, so your child can chew them to pieces long before he/she ever figures out what the words mean. The words and illustrations are simple and large, which of course makes the whole thing even funnier.
Highly recommended.
Parents will love it & babies will drool over it! January 26, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I bought all of the Baby Be of Use books at once and gave them away as gifts to my pregnant friends. I thought they were cute and funny and so did the parents. It's not really a book to use to teach the baby to read. It's just a book that looks cool to others when they see your baby holding it and drooling all over it.
Brilliant Postmodern Analysis of Affinal Responsibilities February 29, 2008 2 out of 4 found this review helpful
In a sweeping break with traditional mores, Lisa Brown boldly unfeminizes the act of desiring breakfast preparation services to flow from infants' tiny paws. It is made real and lent a frightening shimmer when considered in the context of her oeuvre.
Her strident clarion will ring down the halls of history and she will be remembered as the liberator of breakfast: let the Baby do it. After all, they just lie there all day--they must be good for something.
Babies of the world look out! Lisa Brown is onto your game. You've had a party for too long--now it's time for a festivus for the rest of us. I loved it.
cute but... July 10, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
overrated by previous reviews. The last sentence: Mama's hung. Did they run out of space for hungry? Otherwise, I do agree it is sarcastic and hilarious. Fun but not worth the list price.
