Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
Blending tips and ideas with jokes and cartoons, this book speaks directly to kids (ages 9-12). It shows kids that anger is normal and can be expressed in many ways - some healthy, some not. It teaches them how to recognise anger in themselves and others, how to deal with situations and emotions that lead to or mask anger, and how to deal with the anger they feel.

My 9 and 12 year old sons love this book! We have been able to talk about those angery moments in a fun and useful way. The funny pictures just add to the easy-going approch to a serious topic.

I have an Anger Management Group for Kids 8-12 years old and this is one of two books I use. Taking the GRR out of anger is one of the best anger Books for kids I have used in group. Gives straight forward steps in management of anger. Kids can read and understand themselves. Book includes the major points of anger management. I highly recommend this book.

5 out of 5 stars self help for children   December 17, 2006

The text and illustrations make this self-help book appealing for children. They can read it independently but parents and teachers should read it also. It gives concrete steps for handling anger, seeking help when adults are angry, etc. The introduction starts with a discussion of why you need this book. This book increases understanding and options. It also has a message for adults, resources for kids and adults, and an index for easy reference. This little gem fits into small hands nicely and should be used as a frequent resource.

This book was bought for my 10 year old girl who was developing some anger issues. Even though we have talked about it, she was in denial. One day, she became very angry and it escalated. For her one of her punishments, I required her to read 3 chapters (since the chapters are short) everyday and then we would discuss it. She was very reluctant. However, after reading the first couple of chapters, she came to me and told me she learned alot. She even talked about, which she would never do before. This was a very very helpful book.
