"The Sweetest Temptation" is the second installment in the "Whitfield Bride Series" and it's just an OKAY read. I enjoyed the attraction between Ethan and Faith, but it's a very slow-paced romance. It's so sluggish at times I was TEMPTED to skip ahead, in the hopes of finding some FIRE and HEAT. Once again, I enjoyed the camaraderie of the sisters during their social gatherings. However, this story is inundated with "insignificant" details regarding the cakes, the decor, the clothing, the buildings and the cars, albeit vivid and well written descriptions, IMO it's just too much; which often causes the storyline to have "dull patches". I have one more installment to read in this series, and I sure HOPE it's more EXCITING!

This book is book two featuring The Whitfields of New York. This one is about their cousin Faith who is a baker and owner of the bakery Let Them Eat Cake. She has kissed so many frogs that she decides to dedicate more time into her successful business and no time for men and their games. While working for one of her more prominent customers preparing goodies for her wedding and engagment party, she meets a man that she can not ignore by the name of Ethan McMillan. He falls for Faith hard and persues her despite her countless rejections until he wears her down. She does decide to take a chance on love and the outcome is amazing. Now I am ready for Simone's story.

For Ethan Faith is his Sweet Temptation. You can say that Ethan fell in love with Faith at first sight from the time he met her he want her, and Ethan is the kind of man that goes after what he want. I love the fact that Ethan strong, confident and loving man. He is also a gentlemen and he just melt my heart. Faith has her share of Frog so she had decided to put up a wall to guard her heart, but oh Ethan climb that wall and got his woman. After her fail relationship Faith didn't want to fall in love but she did. Faith had to learn to trust again but once she admitted to herself that she trust and love Ethan everything else would fall into place. She was scare that Ethan like all of the other man in her life would try to change her so it took her a minute to realize that Ethan was not like the other guys. Once they came together they couldn't get enough of each other and their love scene was HOT.............
Thanks Rochelle for a great book can't wait for the last book,
Louise
A Sweet Thang July 18, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The Sweetest Temptation offers a story that learns the reader palette exploding.
Faith Whitefield had enough experiences with frogs that she wasn't sure that her third resolution would ever come true. Ethan McMillan had grown tired of endless relationships so when lays eyes on the dessert lady who was decorating his cousin's wedding cake. He finds himself wanting to know more about her.
Faith & Ethan's relationship was based off trust while both found love with one another Rochelle extends the diversity of falling in love while penning an exceptional book. The Sweetest Temptation was a refreshing read that allowed readers to get a view of falling in love that's not seen often. Rochelle Alers went back OLD SKOOL with The Sweetest Temptation!
SCRUMDELLYUMPTIOUS! July 18, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Trusting in love was the hardest thing for Faith. Ethan loved her from the first and he was strong emotionally in his love for her. The side love stories were great, too. I felt that the ending was quite rushed--it went from Faith being non-committal to her being overly gushy towards the end. Overall, great read ( I purchased the other novel (about Tessa & Micah)as I love saga/sequel type romances and I can't wait for Simone's story when it comes out!
