Product Description What unknown hands carved these mysterious skulls perhaps over 12,000 years ago? Do they really have the power of life and death? In 1927, while searching for the lost civilization of Atlantis, archeologists discovered in the ruins of a Mayan city a perfect replica of a human skull, exquisitely carved and polished from a single piece of quartz crystal. It is clearly the product of a sophisticated civilization—yet its age has been estimated at 12,000 years! A number of life-size crystal skulls are known to exist. Where did they come from? Observers have reported strange sounds, odors, and light effects emanating from crystal skulls. Crystal skulls are said to have caused violence, physical injury, and even death. Can it be that these uncanny objects are our link to mankind’s dark, magical past? Are they messengers from another age—or another world? A fascinating compendium of current information on crystal skulls by two authors with first hand knowledge.

MUST READ Book for Skullkeepers and the Curious June 26, 2008 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
I've been privileged to hear both David Hatcher Childress and Stephen Mehler speak on a variety of topics at conferences over the last several years, so I was particularly excited to learn about the publication of this book. Both authors are passionate about what they do, and it shows in their writing as clearly as it shows when they speak.
I have collected and worked with crystal and stone skulls since 2001, and have read every book I could get my hands on about this topic. I am so pleased to recommend THE CRYSTAL SKULLS: ASTONISHING PORTALS TO MAN'S PAST as a definitive MUST READ for anyone who works with or is curious about crystal skulls.
I found the book to be a stimulating, insightful read, connecting me to aspects of the crystal skulls I had not yet discovered. The photographs are spectacular! I especially enjoy reading the first-hand accounts that give this book a personal touch.
There is something in this book for everyone -- the skullkeepers and the curious, people who have worked with crystals and gemstones but not yet experienced skull energy, or even those Indiana Jones fans who will see that Spielberg, Koepe and Lucas really DID do their homework!
The Best Book Ever on Crystal Skulls June 14, 2008 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I have collected almost every book on Crystal Skulls and this is by far the best and most complete. It is loaded with beautiful color photos that are breath taking. It is by far my favorite Crystal Skull book and it is one I want to read again and again. The chapter on F.R. "Nick" Nocerino is worth the price of the book and more.
Don't miss out an incredible adventure.

Best Book on Crystal Skulls! June 23, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
This is the best book on crystal skulls yet! The pictures alone are worth the price of the book, but there's so much more. David Hatcher Childress begins with an excellent review of the Maya and Olmec civilizations, then the stories surrounding famous skulls. Stephen Mehler follows with his own original research on several ancient skulls, one that might not be so ancient, and his own life-changing experience with Max. He tells the story of Nick Nocerino, the foremost crystal skull researcher.
