Product Description Dr. John Dee (1527-1608) was one of the greatest minds of the Elizabethan Age, and his system of angelic communication was the result of the most dramatic magical operation ever recorded. It has survived to become the cornerstone of the modern ceremonial magicians practice. In 1582 Dee and his clairvoyant partner Edward Kelley made magical contact with a number of spiritual entities who identified themselves as angels the same that communicated with Adam, Enoch, and the patriarchs of the Old Testament. Over the next three years they revealed to Dee and Kelley three distinct magical systems of vision magick. The third and last of these incorporated a series of "calls" to be recited in an angelic language in order to raise the consciousness of the magician to a level where angelic contact is possible. Best-selling author and magician, Lon Milo DuQuette, who has practiced Dees system for over twenty-five years, has seized upon elements of the original Dee material overlooked by adepts of the Golden Dawn, Aleister Crowley, and other modern magicians, and brought them to light in Enochian Vision Magick. DuQuette offers the expert and novice alike the practical means by which they can become attuned in the same simple step-by-step manner that first prepared Dee and Kelley. There has never been a book on Enochian magick like this one.

This book is not yet generally available May 26, 2008 8 out of 43 found this review helpful
This book has not yet been made generally available, so anyone offering a review is likely a friend or colleague of the author, or a "professional reviewer", neither of which should be trusted to provide an accurate review. I have numerous of Lon's books and like them all, but let's keep "reviews" and "marketing" separate.
Necessary Bridge between Dee and the "Gee Dee" August 2, 2008 8 out of 9 found this review helpful
Okay, I admit it: I'm a friend of Lon's (something to be proud of actually) and I'm apologizing for getting this review in late---and yet that's a good thing because I can shoot the two nasty reviews out of the water---but first, what's good and unique about this leventy-leventh book on 'How to Do Enochian'? Lon's book creates a bridge between, and a synthesis of, the divergent "Dee Purist" and "G.D./Crowley" schools of Enochian magick. These two different approaches to the same material have been steadily drifting apart since the 1970's magical revival. Actually there was no reason for this. The Golden Dawn's contribution was mainly in working out the complex inner correspondences of the watchtower tablets, a legacy that can be integrated into the earlier system or vise versa. Some Deeish Enochian nit-pickers will disagree but in the complex Enochian universe we can't please everybody--and yet most practical Enochian magicians will benefit by the fusion of the two systems. In line with that, Lon's clear, cogent and friendly writing style makes this brain-buster of a subject actually come alive and make you want to head for the workshop to start building traditional equipment. Is the book a "Must Have" for all working and aspiring Enochian magicians? Yes, I believe it is. Now what about those two negative customer reviews? The guy who wants to bundle his video with a book he gives a one-star rating must have a one-star video to bundle the book with! That in itself should be sufficient to dispose of that one. The other fellow is not only wrong about these being "advance" reviews, he doesn't understand that books are always circulated in advance for review to other writers in the field. Their reviews are often favorable out of professional courtesy. If they don't like the book they simply won't review it. Frankly, such reviews are more valuable on a complex technical subject than those of "Mr.Average" who wouldn't know an Enochian from a Mohican. So lets give Lon a big round of applause for his contribution to modern Enochian study and practice--especially practice. And you can see Maestro DuQuette himself, appearing as the sage Hermes Trismegistus on top of mystical Mt. Shasta in our new DVD Beyond Lemuria --also from Amazon.

Another Masterwork From DuQuette May 25, 2008 7 out of 12 found this review helpful
Lon Milo DuQuette is well known for taking some of the most difficult subjects in Western Hermeticism and making them enjoyable and understandable without dumbing them down. This lastest work, "Enochian Vision Magick: An Introduction and Practical Guide to the Magick of Dr. John Dee and Edward Kelley", is the best yet.
The Enochian system which Dee, court astrologer to Elizabeth I, and true Renaissance man, and Kelley, a character of significantly lesser repute, scryied of the course of many months is deep, complex, and at times contratictory. Yet through all of this DuQuette, in his easy, almost conversational style, leads the reader through the complexities of scrying, the study of a new, angelic language and alphabet and the morass of Elizabethan spelling that is the legacy of Dee and Kelley.
The level of completeness is exactly right for the audience. Not everyone, in fact very few, can be as expert in this topic as DuQuette is, but that does not mean that they cannot learn from it and use it. They can, as DuQuette states, use the system that Dee and Kelley received without having to receive it themselves.
The illustrations in the book are clear and fully explained. Any aspiring magician could use them to reconstruct their own tables, lamen and sigils. I have been fortunate to see the ones which DuQuette himself has created and they are a sight to behold! This is an accurate text written by a true practicing expert.
The book is complete, with all appropriate front and end matter including a bibliography and, thankfully, an index.
If you are at all interested in the Enochian system of Magick, this is the first book to buy.
DIY'er for the Enochian Magician May 23, 2008 5 out of 9 found this review helpful
I remember in the past having both the Tyson and James book out trying to piece everything together with dog eared pages and post'ums on a 1/2 dozen pages. I don't believe that will be a concern any longer.
Lon's book is a DIY'er for Enochian Magick, par excellence. He was able to place the contents into the order that I desired those years ago.
iaosun93 is wrong May 26, 2008 4 out of 7 found this review helpful
I respect someone who tries to keep people honest, but unfortunately iaosun93 is wrong in claiming that the book is not available yet. As someone who has enjoyed many of Mr. Duquette's books, I am troubled to see someone wrongly make a negative review. The facts are that for some reason Amazon has not yet made the book available, but it is already available elsewhere. The book was available by at least earlier this month (May, 08) from the author's own site. I know for sure that copies were available there, and it may be avilable elsewhere, but I do not know for sure. It may be that the author received copies for sale prior to it being available for sale at other places, this is a common practice. Also, as an author myself, I know that review copies of the book become available months before the book is made available to the general public, so that such reviews can be posted when the book is made for sale.
