Although both girls were blind and so caught up in the love they had for their man,I found both stories to be fast paced and I really enjoyed them.
DISAPPOINTED!! August 9, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Wahdia Clark dropped the ball with this one. "Enemy in my bed" was choppy, the switch between first person and third person narratives WAS A MESS! WHO WAS TELLING THE STORY! Thank god at some point she started to name the person who was speaking so you can keep up. I Love Wahdia and think she's the "Queen Of Thug Literature, but how many ways can you tell a story about a ride or die chick who gets in a doomed relationship with a incarcerated married man, a naive wife accepts his jumpoff instead of leaving his a**, STUPID CHICK! A sorry a** thug who thinks he's "DA BOMB" because these asinine women can't get enough of his loving, Sick!! For me the story was dull and outrageous, but to Wahdia's credit she left a P.S. saying the story was written four years ago, thank god!
KiKi Swinson's "Keeping my enemies close", kept my attention. I enjoyed the story it was straight foward and precise, the plot was good and it even had some suspense. Tenisha's character the one who betrayed Larissa had you wondering what her motive was for doing her best friend SOOOOO DIRTY! The story could have easliy stood as a full novel, job well done.

Watch who you sleep with! November 7, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I've read work by both these authors previously and each has proved she has staying power within the literary circle; so it was a pleasure to meet Wahida Clark back in July and cop this new book.
Mad respect to Wahida, but I was a little dissatisfied with her entry "Enemy in My Bed" at first. Flopping between first person and third person definitely had me confused. But Ms. Clark comes through and tells a story that portrays true to life personalities. Nobody is perfect... some are damn right blind when it comes to someone they think they love. When the enemy is sleeping in the bed with you and is serving up betrayal kisses, what's a girl to do? Payback seems to be the order of the day here.
KiKi Swinson's offering "Keeping my Enemies Close" was enjoyable. I love how the story went down from beginning to the very end. The disloyalty uncovered in this story was excellent and Ms Swinson cultivated the hidden revenge oh so well!
Both stories will have you taking a second look at who you are sleeping with!
Essence Bestselling Authors Wahida Clark and KiKi Swinson have partnered to bring their fans two unique styles... all in one book.
