A promising concept that doesn't deliver November 13, 2008
I read a few extremely positive reviews of THE REVENANT, which praised its pulpy quality. The preview pages I'd read seemed really fun, with lovely, vibrant art. And in truth, this does have some lovely art. Even the cover is spectacular, and will look wonderful on my shelf.
But sadly, while THE REVENANT is visually satisfying, this comic just doesn't deliver on the story the way it should. The characters aren't particularly well developed here, nor are they particularly interesting. As the series is continuing, maybe it will flourish later down the road. I hope it does.
