A few special humans are endowed with paranormal abilities, and it is Caleb O'Hara's gift of precognition that saves his family from certain death when the aliens attack Earth, nearly obliterating the human race. Having moved his brothers and wife to a remote cabin, they make a new home for themselves.
But the lack of female companionship sees Caleb's brothers growing restless and frustrated, and Caleb knows that life as they know it must change if the family is to stay together - something that must happen if they are to live through the next challenge from the Alvian invaders.
He knows his two brothers love Jane as much as he does. But to keep the family together, he must convince them of the new path his visions have dictated they must take in order to survive, no matter their reluctance. To coexist with the coldly clinical Alvian race, the human race must learn to adapt drastically to their changed world, and the O'Haras will lead the way.
It is hard to believe that popular author Bianca D'Arc was first published only 16 months ago! With thirteen published books under her belt that encompass six separate series, she has quickly moved up the ranks of many fans' must-buy lists, and with very good reason. Not only has Ms. D'Arc proved to be a prolific writer, but she spins yarns of the supernatural, futuristic, and fantasy with such realism that you find yourself completely immersed in her worlds, with no desire to leave.
Her newest series, Resonance Mates, is off to a running start with a fantastic futuristic tale of an apocalyptic Earth struggling to survive in Hara's Legacy. As with her Dragon Knights saga, this story contains frequent menage scenes, but they never feel gratuitous, as D'Arc writes them in such a way that the act makes complete sense. Indeed, she makes the reader feel that this is the only way these characters can continue on, and reader acceptance is easily grasped. I've often quipped that this author writes the most innocent menage scenes I have ever seen, but it really is true. Of course, the innocence lies solely in the catalyst for the menage, the act itself is hotter than hot and will steam the ink right off the pages of the book!
The O'Hara family is a close knit unit, dedicated to each other's happiness and comfort in the bleak existence that they have been relegated on post-invasion Earth. As the oldest brother, Caleb leads the family, and his visions prove an invaluable asset to his role.
Caleb's wife, Jane, is the heart of the family, and her empathic powers aid her in assuring the emotional well-being of her men. Having grown up with the three brothers, she has loved them all for many years, and they in turn have loved her.
Justin is the middle brother, and his destiny proves important to the survival of the O'Hara family. His bad boy persona belies the man inside that relishes the concept of family and craves something more in his life. The telekinetic abilities he was born with serve a warrior like him well, but Justin is quick to recognize that there is a time to fight and a time to reason.
The youngest brother, Mick, is the gentlest and the most reserved. As a veterinarian before the invasion, he quickly adapted his medical skills to serve as family doctor, a task which his powerful telepathy assists with time and again.
There is something to love about each of the O'Hara brothers, and it is easy to see why Jane is so enamored of them all. Any woman would be lucky to find her own O'Hara man, much less capture the hearts of all three.
In this reviewer's opinion, Bianca D'Arc has hit another one out of the ball park with the release of Resonance Mates, Book 1: Hara's Legacy. Fans will be both overjoyed and somewhat disappointed to learn that this saga will culminate in the fifth book. On one hand, I'm excited that we will learn the fate of these enchanting characters so soon, but I know that I will be disappointed when the series is complete. With only one book currently published, I find myself fervently hoping that there will be opportunity for D'Arc to spin a sub-series out of this one before it is all over.
If you love a great futuristic science fiction tale with plenty of sensual romance and steamy menage scenes, you will not want to miss Hara's Legacy!!

I was expecting a lot from this book and it didn't live up to my expectations. The men were "manly" men and Jane was blah, she was wimpy, had no thoughts of her own and was easily led. I didn't like the fact that Jane was portrayed as a simple doe eyed nympho. I understand that she was empathic and could feel the others pain and sexual frustration, but she was just too...too emotional. Her feelings were too easily hurt and she cried too darn much. I almost expected that if Caleb said "jump" she would say "okay".
Mick was at times whiny and petulant. Justin was overly sexed and was used a breeding stud in this book. Caleb I just couldn't get the feel of him. He stepped in and out of the book, meaning that he said his piece and got every one to listen to him and then bled into the background. I didn't get the Dom/Sub that she was trying to go for. And if it wasn't for the fact that I spewed coffee on the page were I found out what Justin's son name was (Come on now Harry O'Hara?? Are you serious??)I would've returned this book the day after I read it.
The sex scenes were okay, but not good enough to make want to keep it and re-read it.

I've read several of books by Bianca D'Arc and have enjoyed them all.
The story is set on a Montana ranch that the brothers work on together. The twist is the brothers' psychic abilities & the alien invasion. It has a good storyline & a hot menage a quartre.
Hara's Legacy is the first book in her new Resonance Mates series and this series promises to be as good as her Dragon Knight series.
I can't wait for Davin's Quest (book 2) to be released in print!

I really enjoyed this book. The charactors were interesting, and the premise of the book one of my favorite subjects. Other world or paranormal romance. I can't wait for the release of the next book in the series. I highly recommened this book to any romance lovers.It's one I would'nt give up.
