Product Description Prince Nico is a cunning master of stealth, but can he master a maiden's fragile heart? Fourth book in the Dragon Knights series, but can be read on its own. Prince Nico is known as the Prince of Spies for a reason. Not only is he the Spymaster of Draconia, but he's a cunning shapeshifter able to take the form of a dragon at will. The gift of his royal heritage comes in handy as Spymaster for the king, but it's a great secret known only to a few. Riki lives in misery, chained up to serve a mad king's perverted magic. Forced to use her draining healing skills to keep King Lucan of Skithdron alive, Riki is a shadow of the woman she should be. Nico knows Ricki is the woman he's been searching for and wastes no time breaking them both out of the enemy palace. Thus starts an adventure that will take them across two countries, through peril and danger, and the discovery of an undeniable love and mutual respect. Will Nico have the courage to let her fly free, trusting she'll return to him, or will his love smother the fledgling beauty who is breathing free air for the first time in her tragic life? Warning, this title contains explicit sex explained in graphic terms and scenes of mnage a trois.

Only a select few know the secret of the royal family of Draconia - that they have the ability to shape shift into the fierce Black Dragons. Fewer still know Prince Nico's secrets, chiefly that he is the `Prince of Spies', and integral to the security of the land his brother rules. At war with the kingdom of Skithdron, keeping those secrets is more vital than ever, but when Nico is captured and tortured by the evil Skithdron king, he must risk everything - especially if the mysterious healer also imprisoned by King Lucan is who he believes her to be...
Riki has only known a life of terror and slavery in service to King Lucan. She finds it impossible to believe Nico when he reveals her lost identity to her. But Nico is so certain she is the lost Princess Arikia, and when he tells her stories of her long-lost mother and sisters, her memories start to surface...
OK, this is the part where I try to speak intelligently about this book, rather than simply gushing all over the place telling you how much I loved it! If you've read my other reviews of Bianca D'Arc's Dragon Knights series, then you already know I am an avid (possibly rabid, even) fan of these books. The fourth in the series, Prince of Spies, takes the series to a whole new level with the introduction of some exciting and very mysterious new characters... I can't say any more about them without some story spoilers, so I will stop on that subject - for now.
I've waited a long time for Nico's story. He captivated me from the moment he was first introduced in the second story, Border Lair. There is just nothing at all wrong with that man, making him almost too good to be true. (What's that you say? He's NOT real? lol) Not only does he rescue Riki, but he nurtures her from the moment they escape, providing her with what she needs to begin healing from her terrible experiences at the hands of the Skithdronians. Although he knows instantly that she is his mate, he holds himself back, unwilling for her to feel forced into his attentions.
Although she has suffered long and much, Riki has all the backbone you would expect from a member of the royal Draconian family. She proves her dragoness heritage with the resilience with which she recovers from her captivity in Skithdron, and the way she blossoms under the care of her mate, Nico.
Fans who may worry that the Dragon Knights series will see an end when all of the lost princesses are found will rejoice in the new mysteries that are introduced in Prince of Spies, as they will see opportunity for several new stories in the future! Newcomers to this series will enjoy the book, but I really recommend reading the series in order so that you may best experience the story. There are ongoing mysteries throughout the series, and reading them out of order will spoil some of the surprises in the preceding books.

Yay for Dragons! October 24, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This book was a great follow-up to D'Arc's other Dragon Knight books.
Nico is captured by the Skith & finds Riki chained to the Skith king's bedside. They escape & travel to rejoin Riki to her family. Fights, Flights & Dragon Shape-Shifting. Add in True Love & who could ask for more?
Best if you have read the first 3 books in the series.
Gotta Love those Dragons March 27, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
There are very few authors that I will automatically buy their books without even reading what a book is about, but if the name Bianca D'Arc is anywhere on it I just have to have it. This is book 4 in her Dragon Knights series and I love it. If you have not read the other 3 books in this series run out and get them today you won't be sorry.

I liked reading about Nico "Prince of Spies". He was a mystery you knew very little about him. He is sent to find his brother King Roland's wife Queen Alania's twin sister Arikia.Stolen years ago, a dragon healer like her sister's and mother. She is held by mad King Lucan starved & tortured for months by him. Nico has found Arikia his mate. Nico & Riki burn up the pages when they get together.A must read, if you like dragon stories. I enjoyed the book.
