| Editorial Reviews:
Book Description "A star-studded cookbook." --W "A collection of recipes and anecdotes focusing on the one thing that really matters in matters of cooking: time spent together. [Watts and Soto] are reminding us that the possibility to leap freely with abandon can arise anywhere, even in the kitchen." --Interview "A zesty pots de deux...delicious...wonderful." --New York Daily News "For the ultimate in dining and dancing, I can recommend, without reservation, an evening at Heather and Jock's." --Fran Lebowitz "Our Meals is an easy-to-follow compendium of simple recipes interspersed with personal recollections...What shines throughout the book is the depth of Watts' and Soto's friendship for each other....What makes Our Meals such a juicy read, too, are its gossipy asides regarding the high life: Dinners at ballet patron Anne Bass'; visits to Bruce Weber's Adirondack camp; and name-dropping fare like Nora Ephron's Corn Souffl and the Fran Lebowitz Dinner, a nod to the evening the sharp-tongued writer insisted on eating Beluga caviar straight out of the can. Soto and Watts, obviously, have picked up some of Lebowitz's dry wit." --Out magazine

What a surprise. March 28, 2000 5 out of 6 found this review helpful
I bought this in a used store. What a find! It is full of really rich foods. From appetizers to desserts, the recipes are outstanding. Most are not exactly low-fat fare. The 40-Clove garlic chicken has to be the best I have found. It is a keeper. Do not judge this cookbook by the authors as I might have done.
Simple yet delicious June 15, 2000 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
All the recipes in this book are very easy and turn out great. They're perfect if you want to throw an impromptu dinner party for friends and have little experience in doing so. I recommend the Spicy Carrot Ginger Soup!
