3 out of 5 stars Same old-Same old.   November 11, 2004

With THE INCREDIBLES movie being such a hit and since the film is distributed by Disney, there's bound to be some supermarketing going on. THE INCREDIBLE DASH is one such item that ties into the Mouse's marketing campaign. The book is supposedly told from the viewpoint of Dash, the middle child in the Parr (or Incredible) family. Basically, the book explains in very easy to understand language the story told in the movie. The book is labeled as a "Step 3" step into reading book, but shouldn't be difficult to handle at all for any child half way through the first grade. The hardest words to read are the names of some of the characters, such as Omnidroid and Syndrome. There really isn't anything to set the book apart from any other books of it's type, but since it is a tie-in to THE INCREDIBLES it might encourage reluctant-reading younger children to pick up a book and read. The least incredible of THE INCREDIBLES merchandise that I have seen or read thus far.

5 out of 5 stars Incredibles from Dash's perspective   February 14, 2005

Young Dash Parr has a secret; he is actually a super-fast superhero from a family of superheroes. With lots of colorful illustrations, Dash tells the story of the Incredibles from his perspective - from one young kid to another.

Now, this book is indeed a simple retelling of the story of Pixar's Incredibles, modified slightly to be from Dash's perspective. The Step 3 reading level (ages 4-8) is about right. I bought this book for a nephew, who loved the movie, and enjoyed having a brightly colored, easy-to-read Incredibles book that he could call his own. He loves the book, and we all highly recommend it.

So, if you are looking for an Incredibles book with some new information on the Incredibles, then you will be disappointed in this book. But, if you are looking for an Incredibles book that a young reader would appreciate, then this book is for you - as it was for me and my nephew!

5 out of 5 stars Really a hit in our house!   January 6, 2008

Santa brought the Incredibles movie this year and along came this book today. It's a new reader book, level 3, but a 6-7-year-old should be able to handle it with some help here and there. It's a synopsis of the movie from Dash's perspective (funny how they can condense a movie into that small of a book!), but it makes it quite fun for the little ones just learning to read. Really like this book in our house - took back a creepy Spiderman book for this one, which NEVER happens! Highly Recommend!
