Devon Really Loves the Fire Trucks April 26, 2005

My son Devon has all his books in his own bookcase, and he's got a lot of them. Many he's only read once and then there are those he pages through everyday. He may be a bit shy of three, but he knows what he likes. He has his favorites. "Fire, fire!" he squeals as he points to the three busy fire fighters on the cover of this book, "Read about fire!" Yes, this is a book he likes. He likes to read about fire fighter Tom as he starts his day, cleaning the fire engine, then as he checks off everything, making sure the fire truck is ready for the day. Then the alarm goes off, the fire fighters rush to the truck, race to a barn fire and not only put it, but save a little kitten who has been trapped on the roof. Steven Petruccio's illustrations are first rate, as is this story for children. Again, Devon loves this book. He loves Tonka toys as well. Tonka builds `em tough and their books take a lickin' too.
