Great version of the story! October 11, 2007 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
This novelization, written by Suzanne Weyn, is a thourough and descriptive telling of the story. I have a second grader and a fifth grader, and both read it straight through.
Wonderful Wonder Emporium December 14, 2007 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I ordered this as a class set for my second graders to read. We did a book study (reading, grammar, spelling). This is a wonderfully written book. It was so descriptive that my students were able to do some awesome visualizations (illustrations of what was read) to put up in our classroom. We ended our study unit with a trip to see the movie. My students loved the book and felt very grown up to be reading a chapter book instead of their reading books. I would recommend this book to anyone-young or old. (I also enjoyed the book!)
Excellent summer reader August 15, 2008 I used this book along with the movie and the Paper Airplane Book (Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium) as a summer class for students requiring extended school year services. The reading levels in my class went from 2nd grade to 8th grade. For my lower level readers, having the upper level readers read and explain the directions was of great benefit and it helped improve the self-confidence of the upper level reader. The constant connection with the movie and the use of the paper airplane book made this an excellent package.
Excellent version for kids! September 29, 2008 This novelized version of the fourth Indiana Jones movie proved to be exactly what we needed to satisfy my eight year-old son, an avid reader who is not yet allowed to see the PG-13 movie. Having read novelized versions of all three earlier films, he was eager to find out what happened in the latest story. This version was challenging, engaging, and expressed the spirit of the story very well. In short, for younger fans of the character, it is a perfect substitute for the film.
