Big Tribute to the Big Easy March 22, 2006 13 out of 13 found this review helpful
I was born and raised in and around New Orleans and after Katrina destroyed my hometown, I wanted an album of beautiful photographs to remind me of what once was. I believe New Orleans will rebuild bigger and better, but it will be different. These beautiful photographs capture the New Orleans of my memories. This book is a stunning pictoral of New Orleans beyond what tourists see in the French Quarter and Bourbon St. Along with the photos are a brief history of the city I love. Along with New Orleans in Photographs, I purchased New Orleans by Jan Arrigo/Laura McElroy which I also recommend. They are great coffee table books and you can't beat the price for the value! Laissez le bon temps roulez!

I lived there for many years and love it still. This book brought back many memories and, knowing what is there now, much heartbreak.
