Product Description
Striking adaptations of authentic native art--rich in beauty and originality--depict, among other subjects, a Mixtec circular design from an incised gourd rattle, religious figures from a Metepec ceramic candlestick, aand images of jaguars taken from a lacquered chest from Guerrero. An exciting challenge for coloring book enthusiasts, these 30 eye-catching illustrations will also inspire artists, designers, and craftspeople.

3 out of 5 stars This book is ok, but very much a childrens coloring book   January 22, 2005

This book is ok, but very much a childrens coloring book. As that it is good. But if you want more detailed drawings then look for Maya Designs (Coloring Book) by Wilson G. Turner. Excellent art and lots of it.

5 out of 5 stars Impressive & beautiful.   October 23, 2004

I bought this coloring book at a local shop. It is so beautiful i'm hesitant to begin coloring it. It doesn't need color. These illustrations are intricate and the samples in color are really great for inspiration of the actual full size illustrations.

1 out of 5 stars Unusable   November 16, 2006

Although the designs are full page illustrations, the areas to be colored are incredibly small. They would be challenging for an adult. Don't even consider using them with children.

5 out of 5 stars NOT just for kids at all!   March 3, 2006

This book can be wonderful for anyone who does embroidery, quilting, or even tattooing! I wish I'd had it when I was making my art quilt with a Dias de los Muertos theme!

3 out of 5 stars Mexican Fold Art Coloring Book   March 15, 2007

Cover was great but the inside was sketchy, at best. However, it will provide the guidelines I need for a project I'm working on. That's all I was really looking for.
