Best of the Best May 23, 2008 0 out of 4 found this review helpful
This is must be the best X-men story I have ever read. Great plot and drawing. Two things tt nowadays are very difficult to find.
And do you now why? Simple, Bendis did not write it, and what's EVEN better, Leinil Yu did not (thank god) draw it.
If you are looking for a free of the "Bendis Factor" Marvel, comic book (the way it should be), check this one, you will not regret it.
Review from a long time X-Men fan June 17, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have been reading X-Men comics since the early 90s. A lot of the X-Men stories the last few years have been sub-par to say the least. This felt like a return to the X-Men I grew to love so many years ago. Since Messiah Complex, the X-Men seem to have gotten much better. I would highly suggest picking this up to any X-Men fan.
not a bad story August 27, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful

'Messiah Complex' Best in Years November 18, 2008 After years of watching the X-Men flounder in what seemed to me was a mish-mash of rehashed stories and depressing tone, hope shows it does spring eternal in 'Messiah Complex.' Easily the most complex and indeed important event in recent years, MC brings the X-Men back to what I believe is their core theme, hope in the face of overwhelming odds. New readers definitely want to catch up by reading the 'Endangered Species' storyline and may even want to go back to 'House of M'. For veteran readers of the X-Men, the storyline unfolds as if by serendipity. Bishop was meant to betray, Gambit was meant to be redeemed, Xavier was meant to leave, and Cyclops was meant, at long last, to take his place as Alpha Dog. It seems the writers were not writing, but merely channeling these characters as they made these life-altering changes. Also, to say that the Mutant Messiah can only be Jean Grey seems oversimplification of the truth. A great, engrossing read with realisitic art makes Messiah Complex the best in years
