Unflattering patterns for anyone - let alone plus size women May 19, 2008 5 out of 7 found this review helpful
With only one possible exception, most of the patterns in this book are extremely unflattering to the fuller size figure, both in style and in yarn choices. I was so excited to receive this book and get started on making myself some great new clothes that would actually fit, however when I received it, I started flipping through... unflattering, unflattering, makes you look even bigger, unflattering, unflattering, unflattering. There weren't even any cool or creative stitches to learn so the whole book was a total waste of money as it will be going to the thrift store promptly.
The perfect book December 18, 2007 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
Finally a book for us larger sized crocheters. The wonderful thing is that Margaret gives us the tools to create the sweater you have been dreaming of. We have needed a book like this for a long time. It is perfect for any crocheter that has been thinking of making a sweater

This is a wonderful book. It is nicely illustrated, and has nice patterns. The instructions are a little hard to follow at times, that is why I gave it one less star. I also wish it gave clear instructions on how to alter the pattern sections for using two different sizes at the same time for different sections of the pattern. We plus size women need many more books like this. I have two friends who already plan to buy it. Hat's off to the Author!
Do not waste your money on this book June 25, 2008 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
I wear a 3x and there isn't one item in this book I would make. Most of them require specialty yarn and some are definately not styled for the plus-size figure. They are either too short or require waist shaping that a plus sized person does not appreciate or require. Piecing diagrams with measurements are necessary for this kind of garment construction and they are not included in this book at all.

Variety of sweaters to crochet that look fun to make, none of the designs look like they were made for "plus" size people.
