5 out of 5 stars Awesome book   January 19, 2008

I picked up this book and have not been able to put it down! I can't believe the amount of tips, tricks and how to's that I learned. The book is an easy read, all information is well explained (even the tough "technical" stuff) and so informative.

I am a very advanced computer user and know a lot about the Mac - but this book, with all of the information it has, has taken my knowledge to a whole other level.

Highly recommend this book - for both new Leopard owners and veteran Mac OSX users.

5 out of 5 stars A new beginning   January 20, 2008

I like the clarity that David Pogue brings to what could be otherwise a very complex explanation of Mac OS X Leopard. Written from someone independent of Apple it explains those operational things developers take for granted but which you the reader are not aware of.
An excellent reference book. I find myself using it all the time.It is better than using the HELP tabs because you do not have to interrupt your process while operating the computer.

5 out of 5 stars Just as good as ever   January 27, 2008

It covers everything a to z and more in easy to understand language despite the hefty size of 880 plus pages. Good illustrations along with easy to follow instructions and options. Good screen shots so that there is nothing to wonder about when following the directions.

4 out of 5 stars Wow what a book!   February 19, 2008

When I got the book, I was surprised at the large size. What?!!! Read a book that big? But I must say that from page one this book is witty and wonderful. The author does not expect you to be into the technical stuff and explains everything so simply that it is indeed a pleasure to read.

I highly recommend this book. It is a lot of pages but once you start, you would hardly notice its size and when you are done, give Mr. Pogue a big thanks.

5 out of 5 stars Great reference guide!   February 26, 2008

YES, this is the missing manual! Why in the world doesn't apple collaborate with Mr. Pogue on customer friendly references???? I had no clue as to what Leopard could and couldn't do until I picked this book up. Pogue makes it an easy read and the instructions on a very user friendly level. No more phone calls to Apple asking, "how do I do this." This book will answer all of your questions and more.
