What a great book! October 12, 2004 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
Trains, most kids love them and mine is no different. What a great story this is - a true classic and if you don't have it in your library, shame on you! When the little engine gets up the hill, it's just really neat to see the expression on little ones' faces as the engine takes the toys and food to the kids that are in need. Even Dumbo's train says, "I think I can, I think I can..." What a timeless message for everyone and a great way to teach kids the importance of helping one another.
You May Be Little but You Can Still Help December 16, 2002 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
This story is about a train that was just a littel train but when a big train broke down that was caringing all the toys to the children broke down he had to go and do it. But everyone said that he was jsut to small but he pressed on and he got all the toys their on time.

The engine that could is a good book for children ity helps them know that they can do anything that they want I think that the book is good for a boy or girl it is easy to read there are plenty of pictures for the little kids that like looking at colorful pictures. This book is to help kids to realize that they can do anything as long as they put there mind to it, it will happen. Overall I think that this a really good book for young children.
Curiously small size book April 18, 2007 5 out of 6 found this review helpful
Be sure to check the dimensions of this book. It's smaller and thinner than the typical children's book, and it's even smaller than most board books. It's a cheap price and good size for travel, but you may be surprised how small it is.
A CHILDRENS SUCCESS CLASSIC April 16, 2004 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
As a parent of three, one of the most important things I can give my children is motivation. The attitude that he or she CAN DO ANYTHING IF THEY THINK THEY CAN DO IT. By reading this story over and over again, the message will go into their conscious and subconscious mind and my hope is that they will follow their dreams and become all they are able to become. Zev Saftlas, Author of Motivation That Works: How to Get Motivated and Stay Motivated What better gift can a parent give their child than believing in them?
