Confusing... May 15, 2008 3 out of 6 found this review helpful
Reviewed by Anne Boling for ReviewYourBook.com, 5/08 Who are you? What is your style? What two words best describe the authentic you? I guess I am nobody, because I never did find my style. Style Statement has a lot of potential, but it fell short of reaching it. The layout is confusing. I suppose my style is redneck and country. Carrie McCathry and Danielle LaPorte speak with great authority. I have no doubt that they know their topic well. Their book has a sophisticated aurora to it.
a voyage in self descovery April 12, 2008 2 out of 5 found this review helpful
I can't believe I actually had the opportunity to partake in the unfolding of this book. Its been an amazing journey to observe two extremely talented's ladies follow their instinct and their dreams. Having had the opportunity to have my style statement prepared by Carrie and Danielle two years ago, I know what its like to go through the process and then have those two magical words delivered to you, for only you to own. So what do you do when you are interpreted to be an "elegant treasure"? It took me a while to take ownership of the words and allow them to be my guide, but its amazing the power those words projected in to my thoughts and actions. Thank you, its been a pleasure to be part of the journey, I wish you well in all your endeavors.
Could not get past the layout for this book. April 20, 2008 2 out of 9 found this review helpful
I will be brief. I wanted to like this book but the layout is so overdone graphically, I honestly could not read it. I am so disappointed because these ladies sound like they have a refreshing take on bringing our essence to our appearance.
Illumination of self May 16, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
OUTSTANDING! This book is a clearly written and informative instuction tool through which you uncover your authentic self, for and to yourself. As a Certified Image Consultant, I found the material to be beautifully presented in a user friendly way. The value found through these discoveries will change your life. Bravo, Carrie and Danielle! This is a truly moving and emotionally gratifying book. I anxiously await your sequel.

Lovely to look at and interesting section related to discovering one's own style statement. However, not overly interested in the lengthy style statements of the authors' chosen subjects.
