5 out of 5 stars Erin Hunter is the Best   June 26, 2008

Erin Hunter has stolen my heart. I can't wait for her to put another book out. I love the Warrior Cats Series, all of them, and now she has me hooked on The Bears in Quest. Being a cat owner I can really get into the Cat books, and being a lover of all animals the Quest series shows that it too will be another great, great read. Long may Erin Hunter put pen to paper and engross us in the lives of animals.

2 out of 5 stars This fell short   July 18, 2008

This book seemed to fall short for my 13-year-old granddaughter. She is an avid fan of Erin Hunter's Warrior series', and has read them all. She really looked forward to the beginning of this series, but said she "just didn't get into it". Perhaps because she's so interested in the Warriors books, she's not able to make the jump from cats to bears.

2 out of 5 stars Erin Hunter has to stop while she's behind....   September 9, 2008

Okay, so my friend bought this book and read it, then let me borrow it. I finished it in a few days and decided this:
Erin Hunter's works have really gone down hill....
I thought it was great how Hunter showed us the reality of what wild bears are currently going through due to mankind's disregard to the environment, but the way she shot down characters one by one, that whole Ujurak thing...it makes very little sense. My friend and I both decided we aren't going to bother with the rest of the series, to be honest. It was well written and all, but I just couldn't get in to it..it wasn't gripping enough I guess.
Warriors still takes the cake..and I don't even LIKE cats.

4 out of 5 stars Long Time Fan   June 12, 2008
I have been reading "Erin Hunter"'s series "warriors" sense I found out about them in seventh grade. When I found out about the new series hcoming out, I knew I had to read it. I bought the book on my amazon kindle yesterday and finished it today. Overall, this was a wonderful book. My only negative thoughts were about the ending. The endhing gave enough of a closing on Toklo and Lusa, but left the ending for Lusa hanging in an eerie silence. I think this book was a liitle TOO sad for the age group it is supposed to target, and I hope the author changes this in the future.o ther than that, I enjoyed it. Another note, I teared up more than a few times during my reading.

5 out of 5 stars A great new series   July 14, 2008
I have 2 boys who read every Warriors book as soon as it comes out. They have convinced me to read several too. We got this new one the day it came out and the reading began! We all loved this new series. I was shaken by how sad it was and couldn't believe the sad events that were happening to the young bears in the stories. The boys took it in stride. I could see how it would make some kids sad or anxious because it deals with some parent loss.
As soon as they were done reading it, they started wondering when the next in the series will come out. I wonder too how the paths will cross in future books in the series. I don't think you will be disappointed with this book if you like the Warriors series, or fantasy books about animals.
