It has to be said, guys; WOMEN CAN READ! And we're reading these male dating guides faster than you are and we know all the tricks. Play them and you'll be labeled a loser before you get to flash that charming smile.
I have a college-age daughter and she and her friends have a collection of these books (The Game, Mystery Method, PBDG, etc.) that they pass back and forth and laugh about, belittling guys they've caught in the act of trying to employ what they've read. It's kinda sad.
And worse, every women's talk show has turned these books inside out. Any woman with a television will spot the act and you may lose out on a promising encounter.
Go back to being yourself. You're a lot more attractive than you think!

I'll start off saying that this book is worth reading because it will teach you about people, both men and women. Any book that is ranked #27 at amazon that is about THIS topic is obviously special. There are many books that promise guys sex with beautiful women, but few make it in the top 10000, let alone the top 100. What makes this one different?
I think because it explains how mating in human beings works in a progression and from an evolutionary psychology standpoint, while at the same time applying it to the bar/club/party scene.
The idea is this: High quality women look for high quality men. They won't have sex with you until they see you as high quality. This means you either have to actually BE high quality, or you have to give the illusion of being high quality. This book teaches you to mostly do the 2nd, not the 1st.
Peacocking, memorizing canned material, learning palm reading and magic tricks, pretending to have lots of friends and women, telling fictional stories as the truth, these things don't make you higher quality. They only create the illusion. This makes sense, after all, the author is a professional illusionist.
If you want a higher-quality woman LONG TERM, make yourself higher quality. This book mostly teaches you how to fake it long enough to get them into bed.
This method, if followed diligently and practiced A LOT, may get you in bed with some 10s. But it won't last because eventually the real you and the real her will surface and there will be no more game, just an awkward incompatibility.
I would much rather be with a 7 who is a good person, intelligent, and loyal, than a 10 who is spoiled, thinks the world owes her a living because of her beauty, and will soon cheat on you (and how could she not, she has male-10s offering her sex 24/7 - are you THAT great she would turn them all down?).
If you want sex in a relationship that will make you happy, it will probably be with someone who is about as good quality as you are. That is the only way you will both appreciate each other long term and stay loyal to each other.

This book is no fun. I don't mean it's dull, as other reviews mention, (although it is), I mean it's no fun. Meeting women, dating, getting laid, it should all be fun. There is an excitement when meeting a woman, when you find she's interested, when you get together with her for the first time. It's fun to go out and try and exciting to be successful. The author has created such an analysis with detailed terms that he's taken away all the fun. He's too caught up in the technique and terminology to enjoy himself. He just goes through the motions mindlessly. Yes, some of the information will work. But going out working your "negging" every night to get good comes at a great cost; you'll forget why you were doing it to being with. To be successful with women you need confidence, a sense of humor, to be able to relax enough to listen, and to know when to make a move ("close".) "Mystery Method" doesn't give you the tools to develop those skills. Instead it gives you tricks to use. It's like the difference between understanding Shakespeare and just memorizing all the lines. See for yourself. Check out the PUA message boards. There's all kinds of questions that go back and forth. Some guy's teacher is an 8, should he use the usual technique? Should he "neg" her? Another guy asks if he is negging too much. If these guys were really given the proper tools, they wouldn't have to come back for answers to questions. "Mystery Method" doesn't give guys a skill, it gives them a crutch. It's never a good idea to rely on a crutch. I hate to mention another book on a book's site but other people have here and I have to agree; "God is a Woman: Dating Disasters" is the book, because it does give you tools to develop the skills I just mentioned.

The digital era of Casanova wannabes spawned one Erik von Markovik into fame as the illustrious Mystery, the teacher and leader of the lady killers. A dating consultant who holds high dollar seminars and real time practice in the field, Mystery has written what is revered in the online community as the seduction bible. It contains explicit descriptions of his techniques, jargon, lines, approaches, and everything under the sun to attract and pick up women. The result of mastering the skills is creating instant physical and emotional attraction in the all-important first 30 minutes of social interaction with a new target. (babe). He then walks you through the steps all the way to the close. Whether your pursuit of women is your destiny, or a part-time sport, this is a college course you must take.
If you look above, Amazon recommends maybe ten books in this genre. I recommend picking up the best three. Along with this one, make sure you get The Game: Penetrating the Secret Society of Pickup Artists. This is a fascinating journey by an author with marginal skills with the ladies (despite fame), who sets out on a life changing mission to master picking up women using the Mystery Method. The characters are philanderers, gigolos, wannabes, braggarts, and every dysfunctional category in between. Their quest is obvious, and thrust in your face; to sleep with as many beautiful women as possible. The author Strauss has written several best sellers, as well as for Rolling Stone, and literally has no competition when it comes to spinning tales of this type.
The other thought provoking mindbender that catapults your hooking up skills is The Professional Bachelor Dating Guide - How to Exploit Her Inner Psycho. This is a devious sexual persuasion guide for hooking up, written by a psych doc who cruised the nightclubs with great success for decades. It also contains an asset protection guide to set up pre-marriage to shield you from divorce. Get these three, and get ready to laugh and learn. Really interesting books.

I know two men who have taken the workshop, read the book, and have tried everything Mystery suggests. It doesn't work. Mystery suggests in this book that a man has to diminish a woman, raise his value, then make her feel comfortable in order to have sex with her. My favorite part is the technique to overcome Last Minute Resistance, and that is to basically pressure a woman to have sex with you by making her feel unwanted. (Ignore her until she puts out-In my words)
This book is Fools Gold. You might be able to land a woman or two with low self-esteem, but that might not be a woman you are going to want to be around.
This Mystery Method has the same validity as the guy with Question Marks on his Jacket running through Washington DC talking about his book on how to Make Millions from Government Grants.
There are three books that will tech you everything you need to know to meet and attract women. 1) the Art of Seduction: by Robert Greene: It is some College Level Reading, but well worth the time you put into it. 2)Irresistible Attraction: by Kevin Hogan and Mary Lee Labay: It provides a scientific explanation about why some people are charismatic. 3) God is a Woman: by Ian Coburn: A non-B.S. account of his approach to women, why they rejected him, and how he was able to be more likable to women.
I personally like God is a Woman the best. The author walks the reader through what he did, the lessons he learned, and what he had to do in order to attract women.
