A truthful, honest, & explicit look at your body January 28, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Redd has pulled together a book that is both very informative & entertaining. This is a real look at a girls/women's body without any retouching or photo-editing. It's amazing what you can learn, even if you're a 25-year old like I am! There's information in there that I've never heard of and was very useful to learn. There's no need to be ashamed of who you are or what you look like, that's the point of this book and its a fantastic one. My 16-year old cousin begged to borrow it so I gave it to her. This is one you should pass around or buy!
Great Book! January 30, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I'm a 24 yr old woman and I read about this book in People magazine and went out right then and bought it! I LOVED it! I read it all at once and just adored it. I recommended it to all my girlfriends. I really loved that it included a section on inverted nipples and mentioned endometriosis because you never hear about either one of those! Everything about this book was great and I'm so glad it's out there, I only wish I had been able to read it when I was a teenager!
Full of information February 10, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
This book covers every topic you can think of, it's full of information that girls are too embarrassed to talk about with their parents. There are lots of pictures, so keep that in mind if that bothers you, but I think every teen girl could learn a lot from this book.
Real and to the point. February 16, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is such a great book. I heard about it on the xm radio station with Gayle King on Oprah and Friends. I love it. I am 28 and there are things that I learned about in that book. I've dealt with certain situations that I had questions about and never said anything to anyone. I found the answers in this book. Thank you so much.
A "MUST READ" FOR TEENS AND YOUNG WOMEN February 17, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I ordered the book before realizing it was targeted to teens and young women. That is not to say I didn't learn a thing or two myself.
I shared the book with my young niece. Her experience was positive and educational. I do believe her body image and self-confidence has improved as a result of having photos of "real" bodies to compare herself to as opposed to the artificial, computer-enhanced bodies of celebrities.
The book covers information and answers questions most young girls are afraid to ask their friends, doctors, or even their parents. I am confident that the medical information provided inside its pages will encourage many girls to be more open with their doctors and may even save a life!
