My 10 year old son loves this entire series May 29, 2008 My son has read each book in this series from Rick Riordan. He has loved each one. We pre-ordered this book because he loved the other ones so much and it arrived the day it was released -- my son was thrilled. This series has been instrumental in keeping his interest in read alive and well. When it comes to elementary school boys, I believe you have to do whatever it takes to keep them interested and excited about reading.
Battle of the Labyrinth May 31, 2008 If you like reading books that don't bore you to death then Battle of the Labyrinth is just the book to read, especially if your into mythology. Full of action packed fun and even a bit of humor here and there Battle of the Labryinth picks ups a couple of months after "Titan's Curse" when Percy goes to his freshman orientation and it goes terribly bad. But I won't say anymore. So if you like books with action and a cliff hanger the Battle of the Labyrinth is the book you should read. I also recomend books 1-3.
The action continues! May 31, 2008 Riordan continues with his amazing ability to put ordinary, ADHD & dyslexic Percy Jackson into amazing scenarios only known through Greek Mythology. The book is action-packed from page 3... Percy continues his friendships and adventures- I can't wait for book 5! Definitely a must for Potter fans~ it lives up to the same "everday misfit realizes his true potential and calling" storyline.
The Best Book Ever June 1, 2008 This is the 4th book in the PJATO series. I can honestly say that it is the best book I have ever read. In it, Percy Jackson, Annabeth Chase, Grover, and Tyson enter a labyrinth that few ever escape out of alive. They are searching for Luke and his army to stop them from invading Camp Half Blood. In this book, there is not just one battle but a series of battles in which Percy faces monsters, Luke, and even the horrible titan Kronos. It is full of action and adventure and I highly reccomend reading the whole series. I just hope Rick Riordan comes out with another book soon!!!!
a great way to connect with your kids! June 1, 2008 My 5th grade son loves this series, and the great thing is that I genuinely enjoy these books as well. Battle of the Labyrinth is no exception; it's a fun, modernized way to learn stories from Greek mythology, and because we're both so enthusiastic about them, it's a wonderful way to connect with him. Sometimes we read together, but more often than not, he can't put the book down once he picks it up and I'm perpetually behind him in the story! I'm also a teacher at a 6-12 urban school, and the students at the middle school level love this series. A definite winner for kids from late elementary to middle school age, the books in this series have won multiple awards, including Children's Choice Book Awards, and Battle of the Labyrinth is bound to follow suit.
