An Important Book for our time June 5, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is Ron Paul's review of what our government was intended to be compared to what it is now. It is often scathing, humorous, woeful and hopeful all at the same time. It is written very much like a college research paper - very many primary sources strung together with intelligent dialog. The one drawback I find is that it is not timeless. There is a little to much commentary on what is happening right now - things that will lose their relevancy as time passes. Regardless the principles espoused in addition to the short history review of the United States are extremely important reference points at any time.
An Interesting Read June 7, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Ron Paul makes a lot of excellent points about government spending and excess that I think will resonate with a lot of Americans. We see how the government is spending more and more money and not getting anywhere. In a time where most Americans are beginning to take responsibility for their own debts, the government is building more and more debt that will, if left unchecked, cripple the economy. He also talks about foreign policy that will cause many to, at the least, reevaluate the way that they've thought about the US's role in the world.
While I don't agree necessarily with all of what he says in his book, Ron Paul makes points that will challenge the reader to think about government in a different capacity, and is an excellent concise book on his views on government.
Freedom Is Popular June 8, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
By far the most comprehensive overview on the philosophy behind the freedom movement ever written. Not only does Dr. Paul cover a ton of important topics but he writes in a way that makes usually hard subjects like the economy and foreign policy easy for the average person to understand. If you have been looking at America and trying to figure out what went wrong, you need to read this book. If you value freedom and liberty and the American dream you should not only read this book but tell your family and friends about it. Seriously, it is hands down the best book I have ever read. 5 HUGE Stars.
Finally some truth from a politician June 9, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This book was everything I expected it to be. I recommend it to all freedom lovers.

The Revolution: A Manifesto Dr. Ron Paul explains how we have allowed the Washington crowd to overspend and over borrow. This translates to higher oil and food prices for all of us with no end in sight. Dr. Paul also addresses how our military spending is ruining our economy. The remaining presidential candidates do not seem likely to change things which is sad. If this continues the youth of today will have huge debts to pay. Paul also speaks about our education system, health care system, the federal reserve bank, the I.R.S. and other things. He makes the most sense of any presidential candidate. Its too bad MSM is shutting him out as its a powerful wake-up America messsage. My 95 y.o. mom read it and said it was excellent.
