This book made me sweat! January 14, 2007 11 out of 12 found this review helpful
Emotionally scarred talk show host Morgan O'Malley is the victim of a stalker. Finding herself in danger, she must trust the one man who makes her nervous, Jack Cole. Will Morgan submit to her secret desires or will she give up the one man whom she wants to be tied to forever?
The host of a cable sex talk show, Morgan O'Malley is the victim of a relentless stalker. She secretly flies to Houston to stay with her half-brother Brandon and poses as his fiance. With the hope that the stalker was left behind, Morgan continues to work even though her show is on hiatus. She contacts Master J, a well-known Dominant, to get information for an upcoming episode. Master J agrees to meet her the next day after pushing several of Morgan's hidden, secret, sexual buttons. Just when her day could not get any worse, Brandon walks in with an envelope that Morgan knows is from her stalker; he has found her. Refusing to give in and be afraid, Morgan travels to the location she and Master J agreed upon. As Morgan and Master J start talking, shots are fired and they are aimed at Morgan.
Ex-Special Forces, bodyguard, and dominant, Jack Cole has spent three years trying to find a way to pay back Brandon Ross. Redemption comes in the form of curious Morgan O'Malley, talk show host and Brandon's fiance. Jack is thrilled when Morgan contacts him to get information on the practice of dominance and submission. He agrees to meet Morgan the next day to answer her questions. Immediately upon meeting Morgan, Jack senses her secret desire to submit to a man and sets his plan of seduction in motion. As he moves in, shots are fired in Morgan's direction. Jack's training kicks in and he spirits her away to safety, much to her dismay.
Hours later, Morgan wakes up alone. Frightened, she jumps up but notices Jack in the doorway watching her. Morgan doesn't know what she should be more scared of; her stalker, or Jack and the way he makes her yearn for him.
Jack knows it is only a matter of time before Morgan submits to him. He knows that Morgan is fighting hard with herself and her desire to remain in control. He figures one night of submission to him will be enough but he could not have been more wrong. Instead of revenge on Brandon Ross, the tables are turned. Jack doesn't count on falling for Morgan and decides that nothing on Earth, not even a stalker, will keep her from becoming his.
WICKED TIES by Shayla Black absolutely took my breath away. I am a dedicated fan of D/s, but never before have I read a book of this genre with such raw and powerful emotions. WICKED TIES wound itself around me and refused to let go. Full of passion and erotic love scenes, I found myself thinking of what it would be like to be Morgan. That is how real this book was to me. I did come to one conclusion: Jack Cole is welcome to use his ropes on me at any time!
WICKED TIES is an exceptional read that took me for an emotional ride that I did not want to end. I am delighted and thrilled to have found another author to read. Shayla Black has made a new fan and my bookshelf has a new, welcomed addition.

This book is a KEEPER in the HOTTEST section of your Keeper Shelf!! January 9, 2007 9 out of 10 found this review helpful
I was hooked on buying this book from an excerpt that I read where Jack kept asking Morgan "Why are you so afraid of your sexuality?" And throughout this excerpt he kept going back to this question. I even emailed Shayla and begged her to send me this book immediately so I could read it NOW! I ended up ordering online immediately (pre-order) and it was my lucky week because in no time I received this book and devoured it. My heart started racing because I was now Morgan and OMG depending on how you were brought up - she thinks it's wrong to feel all these explicit fantasies in her mind and she can take care of herself. She doesn't need anybody dominating her EVER! I love independent heroines and Morgan is certainly that so it makes it really easy to feel everything she feels and thinks. Master J (Jack) knows differently. This is a sizzling HOT read and I loved it. My heart got a work-out at several parts of this book. I won't go into detail with the stalker and all because it is said before me here. Another really HOT part of this book is Deke! Woohoo!!! He has to get his story!! Please~! Pretty Please~?!
You don't want to miss Master J and Morgan!
It's REALLY hot in here!! January 3, 2007 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
Okay, I'm not going to try to review the plot, cuz the big stars above got that covered.
All I want to say is.... this is a hot, Hot, HOT!! book. The hero and heroine really have a great relationship, including the inability to communicate with each other on occasion. How cool is that? Real life makes the book more interesting.
And, we get a peek at Deke and Luc, the twosome who are looking for a threesome. I'm trying to convince author Shayla Black to let them come over a visit, but so far no luck.
If you like erotic romances, this is a must have addition to your library!
Good, hot, enjoyable January 8, 2007 5 out of 7 found this review helpful
Good story line, good romance, extra hot (not for the faint of heart). Would like to read another one by Shayla Black.
Very erotic, with an exceptional emotional angle March 18, 2007 5 out of 6 found this review helpful
Morgan O'Malley is just doing research for her TV show when she tracks down mysterious dominant, 'J.' But there's something in his voice that appeals to her on more levels than just professional. When he insists that they get together, she agrees. That meeting becomes more serious when someone, almost certainly the man who's been stalking her, opens fire. 'J,' whose real name appears to be Jack, hustles her to safety--or is it really safe at all? Since the breakup of her last relationship, when Morgan revealed her secrets to her fiance, only to have them thrown back in her face, she's feared letting go--and Jack insists that she do just that.
Jack hasn't been a dominant as long as he has not to be able to recognize a submissive. Morgan can never find herself, achieve happiness if she insists on denying the person she truly is. And Jack is happy to take this sexy redhead and turn her into a sex machine. Maybe he has a bit of guilt over the secret he's hiding from her, and maybe he starts to feel that she's more than just another submissive. Still, how can it hurt if he helps her explore her submissive side--sounds like a win-win, right?
As they explore their desires and the powerful attraction that draws them together, Jack and Morgan both attempt to deny the way physical dependence is fostering emotional involvement. As Morgan opens her body, she's also opening her soul. But can Jack stand Morgan's ultimate secret, or will he crack under its pressure--and if he does crack, is Morgan now strong enough to fight for herself?
Authro Shayla Black delivers a super-sexy story. Bondage, spankings, domination, multiple penetration, toys, and even menage, play their parts in helping these two characters learn about themselves and each other. Black never loses touch of the emotional side of the developing relationship, however. The physical is always reflected in the more emotions of her characters, and closure only comes when both Jack and Morgan are able to free themselves of their fears.
If you enjoy a well-written erotic novel, you'll definitely want to check out WICKED TIES.
