Just Plain Awful!! July 19, 2008 1 out of 6 found this review helpful
I expected a good read, I got pure garbage. Quit at chapter 7, it is just plain terrible, nothing at all to hold your interest. The entire plot is given away by the third page.
Another Great Read July 21, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is another great story by Nora Roberts. Her last stand alone book was a little light on romance, but this book steps it up quite a bit. I liked the chemistry between the two main characters, and the mystery was interesting. I can't see how anyone who enjoys this type of novel would ever give this a one star rating. The characters are engaging and the hero is well-rounded and different enough from the typical hero to make him one of the better heroes created by Roberts.
A Great Summer Read July 21, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Ms. Roberts has another hit on her hands with Tribute I really liked both main characters Ford and Cilla and all the supporting characters. I really liked how she developed Cilla's character throughout the novel from some one who is very insecure about herself and the people who are closest to her and I especially liked the relationship development between Cilla and her father. I liked how Ford wore down Cilla and how his easy going manner and his realness helped to I guess the best word is heal Cilla. And I would never have guessed who the tormentor was. I think the only thing I might have changed was to maybe have Janet visit Cilla in one of her "dream scenes" after the case was closed I would have liked to know if Janet knew what happened. Any way great read
Sorry Nora... July 22, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Sorry, Nora, but I couldn't even finish this one. I gave up halfway through and just skipped to the end to find out who the "bad guy" was. It just seemed like this one was so much like many that have come before it, and neither of the main characters grabbed me at all. Plus it was just plain boring. I'm truly disappointed because I am a huge fan, but the past few hardback offerings have been sub-par.
Classic Nora July 27, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I've been reading Nora Roberts for at least 20 years and always enjoy her books. I really enjoyed Tribute because, like Cilla, I also enjoy bringing older homes back to life and I also enjoy graphic novels, so it was interesting reading how a story could evolve from its conception. But, I tend to also agree with many of the reviewers that some of her books have become almost boring. Maybe because I have been reading them for so long, it has become almost simple to figure out the villians much too easily. With that said, I am not sure that there is another author out there who could ever surpass the many hours of enjoyment I have had from reading Nora Roberts. She will continue to be a pre-order author for me.
