worth the money June 9, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I had heared that crocs were worth the extra money and are better then the knock offs I heared right. I have a big wide foot and was worried they might be to small. They fit perfectly.
Velcro strap... August 7, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I went to REI to try on a bunch of different crocs styles. I would recommend people do this because they all fit a little different, especially if you're a size 13 like me. I found that "Beach" were way too loose and tended to fall off. "Endeavour" has more "exact" sizes?
The 13 was too loose and the 12 crammed my toe on the front end. I was going to give up, but with the velcro straps on the "off-road", I was able to buy a 13 and set the strap at a comfortable, slightly tighter position.
I've owned these off-roads for three months now. I use them strictly around the house, since I think they're a fashion train-wreck and would never wear them in public. I mean look, no one is going to mistake these for army boots. But by trying to look like army boots, they make me look like a pathetic poser...an overweight thirties dad in Docker cargo pants and army-green foam shoes. But! they're so darn comfortable...they fill a practical niche in my footwear collection.
The closed-toe is great for hosing off the deck or taking out the diaper pail, and I dock the velcro strap when indoors.
More complaints: the tread, supposedly so much beefier, is already worn down to be a little slick. The velcro strap often binds between the shoe and the black fastener when you're trying to move it forward. I wouldn't say I've been hard on them, so I really expected them to hold up better.
Very Good, Not Great September 14, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is the first pair of any Crocs I have purchased or tried. After reading so many positive reviews and not very many bad reviews on Crocs (except for cosmetic reasons), I decided to try it out. I have been very pleased with my purchase just over a month ago. I am on my feet 8+ hours per day and am repeatedly moving, climbing ladders or standing upright in order to perform my job. As a fat person, I did not expect any shoe or clog of any kind to relieve all pain, but these Crocs have certainly been a very good asset. I am not sure whether weight does or does not play a major role in the fact that my feet hurt after 8+ hours of standing up at work, these Crocs are easy to maneuver in, comfortable to stand in and convenient to slip on and off without any hassle. The toe cover on these off road Crocs prevent harmful materials from damaging my toes at work, but the open back doesn't offer much of any protection (unless you wear the strap behind your foot, then minimal protection is received). It took a day, two days at the most for the Crocs to "break in" - mold to my feet. After that, I was very pleased with the fit and comfort. The traction is much better than I anticipated, but the Crocs are still loose enough to compensate for any tight/cramped feelings. I wear a normal shoe size 12 and I ordered this size 12 Croc and was lucky to find out that they feet near perfectly. I would not want them any looser.
A very good product, a very sturdy product (that I have experienced) and a happy customer. As with other reviews, I have yet to experience the strap breaking. However, I always make sure to take extra care when utilizing the strap so that I do not break it.
crocs off road June 5, 2008 These shoes are great! Have had promblems with my feet for years because of diabetes. I went to FL Folk festival near Jacksonville Fl recently and was on from feet from 11:00 to 11:00. My feet never bothered me the whole time. I would not say this if I did not belive in this shoe. I can ride my bike, canoe, hike and do all water gigs I was about to give up. By the way they are great in the water,Gulf, fresh water and they dry so fast you foget you were in the water. I know they might look like you need a helmet and have to have rope tied to your waist but I don't care. Just doing all these things I love again without pain is wonderful. However I did find another pair I bought called Yukon they are also built for comfort and look great. I call these my after 6:00 crocks.
Perfect for outdoors and mud, great for around the house June 7, 2008 I love these things. I used to think Crocs were lame until I got these offroad guys. They look great and I run them through anything and my feet rarely get wet or anything. The key is there are no holes in the very front of the croc and the slots on the side are smaller than the regular crocs. That allows you to go through mud and puddles without your feet getting wet unless your foot is submerged. I wore these to Jazz Fest in New Orleans when it was pouring for hours and everyone else was concerned about their shoes getting wet and I was living large.
Only downside is that they tend to keep your feet hotter than standard crocs since there is slightly less holes and ventilation. But not really that noticeable unless you have the black color and live in Florida.
