1 out of 5 stars Annoying   February 27, 2007

I avoided using the Bella Band b/c it was so annoying & used the rubber band on the button trick instead. The band constantly rode up or slid down, so my pants would fall out from underneath it or ride up as well! I walked around tugging on my mid-section just so my pants would stay up, or out of my crotch, & my belly unexposed. If you sit for any amount of time wearing it, your pants creep down & expose your underwear, or worse, your [...]! I looked forward to when I could take it off. The band should to be curved to fit your body & not just a width of spandex to do its job properly, if at all.

2 out of 5 stars Not Impressed.   April 27, 2007

I got these bands thinking they would help keep me in pants longer into my second trimester or at least help smooth down my open buckle. They haven't done eitehr. I would've been better off with the snap extender. The belt is a great tube top but the elastice certainly doesn't afford it to a reasonalbe belt that will secure your pants in place. If you sit, or actually move your hips while you walk the band shifts right on up as those pants slip down your backside. The foldover needs constant adjusting to stay in the right place and not wrinkle all up. It does not look like you layered a shirt underneath your regular top when the belt keeps shifting around.

Now maybe I am being too picky or need larger hips to help hold these up but I like for a product to do as it claims. This does not. I wouldn't spend your money on bella bands.

2 out of 5 stars Not as helpful as I'd hoped   May 24, 2007

I wear a 36" inseam, which means that literally NO maternity pants are manufactured that fit me properly. (Tall sizes stop at 34".) I detest capris and skirts are not an option for me at work due to safety regulations. I was so hopeful that the Bella Band would be my "perfect solution" and allow me to wear my pre-pregnancy pants that were long enough to fit. Not so much.

The waistband of my jeans gets pulled down too far to stay inside the Bella Band when I sit down. If I pull the band down far enough to prevent this, my shirts do not cover it. As unprofessional as an untucked polo shirt looks, having a big elastic band sticking out from under it is even worse! In addition, as the weather gets warmer and warmer, I'm finding that it's extremely uncomfortable to wear the band in the first place, since it's yet another layer of clothing and one that stays tight against my skin.

I guess I'll just have to waste a lot of money I don't have on pants too short for me that I'll only wear for 2-3 months. Because this isn't working at all. I'm very disappointed.

5 out of 5 stars GREAT wardrobe extender   February 2, 2007

they're not cheap for what's basically a tube top, but unless you're rich, most maternity pants are ugly! i'm normally petite. i'm almost 6 months prego and already 20 lbs heavier now. but i haven't needed maternity clothes yet because i can get away with my regular jeans/pants only half-way closed with a bella band covering the rest. i'd imagine that if your bump rides lower on your torso, you couldn't do that, but if my body doesn't return to a reasonably normal size after delivery, i can still use these bands and keep my pre-prego jeans for the future.

4 out of 5 stars does its job   January 2, 2007

I like this product-I think it really does its job. One word of caution would be-if you are towards the higher end of the size range for this product, you may want to consider going up one size. I wear size 12 pants normally, and found this bella band to be a bit snug. It also slipped off of my pants and above my belly sometimes. The larger size seems to fit more comfortably.
