I've been trying to find a sensibly sized and priced replacement for my existing Casio watch with a 'Thermometer' for several years. Being a heating engineer apart from the obvious that it gives me accurate time I find a watch with a thermometer so very handy when balancing and checking room and water temperatures etc plus other features like the stop watch I can use for adjusting gas rates on heating appliances etc.
I purchased my first Casio 'Thermomter' watch in the UK in the 1980's and it is still working perfectly but while wearing it at work the face did get very scratched. My second Casio 'Thermomter' watch again I purchased in the UK over ten years ago, it too as suffered some external damage but it is still working perfectly and I'm still wearing it at work. The 'Casio Forester Sports Thermometer' watch has the same plus a lot more features which I can also use at work. Since at the moment it's still very 'New' I don't know if it will be as reliable and as robust as my last two Casio watches but at this time I am extremely pleased with it. However, it must be acknowledged that like all small complex elecronics it is a little bit tedious to initially set up. The one thing a didn't like was the very small instruction manual which is folded in half and then forced into the watch display stand and which after removal stays creased and folds itself when using. When items like this are a little complex they really should have better and clearer instruction manuals. Keith Simmonds

I like it a great deal, good price, and I've found the thermometer to be useful (I surf, and use it to measure the water temp - it's useless for air temp if you're wearing it, as others have mentioned.
Users manual is cryptic even by cheap watch standards, though, so if you want to set the moon/tide functions, do some googling on terms like "lunitidal" if you want help

Things I like about this watch; Tide Graph, Moon phase, Stopwatch, temperature, easy to push buttons.
Things I dont like; A bit "cheapy" looking, difficult to read analog at night, hands often cover digital display.
I really like having the variety of display features on this watch. Of course the temperature is not that accurate, but it is pretty accurate to determine water temperature when swimming so that is cool. The tide function is neat too, but tide times vary quite a bit depending where you are. Like tides at the golden gate bridge are different than for the Berkeley marina, but at least I get a general idea of the tides. For the price it is a great deal. I am hoping that the screw-on back will allow the watch to remain waterproof after I change the battery. Every other watch fails when I take it swimming after a battery change.

Agree with the other reviewers. Take the thermometer function with a grain of salt since your body temp is going to alter any readings it gives. But it does work great for camping: leave it in the tent pocket and first thing in the morning you can check the temp and the tide for that early morning fishing. Good quality, lots of nice features.
